  1. Yeah, the accuracy is really poor and seems like you can only find the kits in Asia at a high price. Maybe there's not a lot of interest for them by American modelers and as usual anything with the 3 pointed star comes at a premium. Thanks!
  2. X2
  3. Hey Dan, just ordered & received 2 sets of wheels & tires and they are great! High quality casting and fast turn around. Thanks! Jay
  4. That's gonna be a beast. I'll be watching.
  5. Thanks guys. It's a replica of my 1:1 '96 E320 except for the wheels. It was an unpainted glue bomb when I got it. All the "glass" had to be replaced with plastic from a food container.
  6. Thanks guys. It's sort if a rare kit and can be pricey if you find one. The box is dated 1987. This is the AMG version. There is a non AMG version on the auction site now for $108. Of course I didn't pay anything close to that. My motto, "never pay retail". Thanks again
  7. Wheels from Scenes Unlimited arrived. They are pretty big so I've started modifying the spare chassis.
  8. This is the Fujimi E320 Classic with Carlsson wheels from either Fujimi or Aoshima, I don't remeber which.
  9. Came out looking really cool! Nice conversion and color.
  10. I found a built kit online that was pretty much a glue bomb. The part that bugged me the most was the poseable steering was glued with one front wheel higher than the other. I thought about the freezer trick which I've had mixed results with in the past. Then I thought about something I had in the garage called Freeze-Off made by CRC. Works great on rusted on bolts by what the can says is a "freeze shock action... immediately drops the temperature of the area in direct contact". The nozzle comes with a small straw to direct the spray in tight areas so I gave the pieces a quick shot and it worked. Parts separated without breaking or damaging the plastic. This is nasty stuff so if you try it do so in a well ventilated area or outside and use a mask and goggles and all those safety measures. I washed the parts in dish soap and water and was good to go. This was the first time I tried it so I'm not saying I swear by it but I will try it on the next glue bomb I come across. Individual results may vary.
  11. Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate that. I prefer the 2 door over the 4 door Tahoe and even the Suburban. It looks good stock, lifted and outfitted for emergencies. I agree, the '99+ alloys look better than the stockers. I think I'll de-chrome them, paint them silver and add some wash to them and see how that looks. And since I have a spare chassis, I'll leave one at stock height and lift the suspension on the other. Thanks again
  12. Coming along nicely Curtis. As for the trim, maybe a very dark shade of Grey would work.
  13. Wow they both are gorgeous and beautiful pics too. Eccellente
  14. I cut the chassis down to size. Again, sure it's not exactly like the 1:1 but it works. I'm waiting for a couple of sets of wheels & tires I ordered from Scenes Unlimited before I touch the suspension. If they're to large for the stock set up I'll lift the suspension. Or I may just leave it stock and use the Silverado wheels & tires.
  15. I'm calling the interior done. I'm sure it's not to spec but close enough. Had to notch the wheel humps a bit to get the rear seat to sit right. Also can't find the decal sheet so I'll be printing a copy of the instrument cluster.
  16. Nice job! Love the street version too. That's a fun kit to build.
  17. Nice project. I agree, those Camaro inspired lights aren't working on the Vette. 4 rounds are traditional and definitely the way to go. Even the 2012 Vette tails are good. I think the F-40's rear end is so flat and not as sexy as the new Corvette, but that's me.
