MINIDREAMS HACK JOB 1&2
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to David@MinidreamsInc.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hey Mini, here's my "Sub Urban" i did a while back. It took almost a year to complete (I'm one of those sloooow builders). It definitely challenged my skills but I learned a lot from it. I know yours will be way better!!! Can't wait to see it. Any plans on casting it when you're done? -
This is my first Porsche build so I'll probably need a little help along the way so I don't screw it up. I'm going for a street version without all the livery. I'd like to use another set of rims rather than the those in the kit without getting "blingy". Any suggestions? So far I've completed the engine. Please let me know what you think and of course all comments and suggestions are welcome...

Looking really good so far. Only one suggestion if I may, the red interior could use a coat of flat or satin clear to take down the shine a bit. Can't wait to see more pics of this build.

Nice clean build of a beautiful tuner. Can't wait to see more of your work.

I think I got the speakers from ScaleLows awhile back. Scaledreams has some good stuff. The monitor is from the Dodge Charger and the amps were kit bash from which kit I can't remember. I glued two squares of .05mm styrene together, cut down to match the body lines and smoothed the edges. Then I cut out the openings and used window tinting film as glass. Thanks again.

Sharpie's
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to MyBradKeselowski's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Maybe Sharpie should send us all a free pack with all this free publicity, but I agree 100%, Sharpies are great. I tried them for a wood grain pattern. I started with yellow, then shades of green, red and brown. I was able to smear the coats to get the effect. The monitors and amps are all done with Sharpies also. -
Thanks guys. And to think, she'd really drive this if it were 1:1. Here's a few slightly better pics...

Here's Revell's Shelby GT 500 I did for my daughter. Testor's Hot Magenta with Dupli-Color Clear Effex glitter clear coat. Thanks for checking it out.

I'm refering to the "Gatherer's" Mercedes M-Class truck. I know this is not a popular kit but hopefully someone here may be familiar with it. I'm wondering if the seats, dash and grill are molded in or seperate. I'm working on updating an old G-Class to a G500 and need to find or scratch build these parts. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the info guys. I'd love to get together sometime, just so I don't feel so alone as a builder down here. I think I will make that show in Venice, maybe not to compete (not sure if my stuff is up to par yet) but certainly to meet other builders and see their stuff in person. Sorry it took a while to reply, sometimes life takes precidence.

Sharpies are great to have on the workbench. For tailights sometimes coloring the inside of the lens produces a realistic effect. -
I started this for a client, just put some primer on it. It's an Entex kit I found on the Bay of E. They want it in red over black two-tone, all stock except some sound in the trunk. When it's done I'd like to do one for myself maybe in silver. Thanks for looking

The AMT Prestige kit box stock with "carpeting", BMF, wiring, scratch built "glass" and kit option Stingray wheels. Thanks for checking it out...

I picked a resin XLR a while back on ebay. Does anyone know which Vette would be the best donor for this? Also, I was wondering if anyone has pics of one completed. Thanks.

Nice build. I'd like to get a hold of one of these myself. Could use a little BMF though, and not too sure about the old school mags, but still a clean build.

LMA!!! Whatever dudes. Didn't know I had to be a pro photographer, besides, there are plenty of pics posted here that are not of the highest quality. I beleive the subject itself may not be too popular here and I'm cool with that. When I post a pic I'm only displaying my work to what I imagine to be an appreciative audience and perhaps get some feedback and/or suggestions. You guys came at me like haters. Chill. Perhaps you guys are pro builders & photogs, but I didn't know that's what you have to be to post and get a few replies here. Whatever, it's only plastic.
