Hi tim,the chassis is a pro sportsman i used the 1 from the street burner 57,i had to cut it up quite a bit,i still have to cut the front rails to get the correct wheelbase,I have a couple of builds to finish then im into it hard.
Scribing the door line is fairly easy,There are more than 1 way but what i do is use a fine line masking tape(pin striping tape works to)and i carefully mask the shape i want.I layer or put more tape over the last layer until you have something to follow with your xacto blade.Use the back of the blade(not the sharp pointy side) and start slowly following your tape line.Go slowly letting the weight of the blade follow your tape line.repeat until you have the depth you want.I hope this helps you.
Thanks Carl,i turned out Ok!Its no show winner but im happy with it.
Hi again freakshow, the sides are nice and smooth, how ever the roof and the truck will get a quick buff up..
Cheers Tommy,I used the PE parts for the tail light surrounds,If you can get one of these detail sets they are great. It has all the emblems including the biscayne scrips...
Hi Tommy,Your of to a great start,I built 1 of these last year.I used all of the monogram chassis an tub for mine aswell.I had the same fit issues.I like your color choice to,I also had to trim the hood a bit to make that fit.All in all its a cool model. If you would like to see mine i can post it up.Happy building..
