  1. Just wondering how few words it would take! Maybe I should just have said 'If I...', you'd probably still have got it. Overplayed? Not by the band themselves, sadly. Probably not their best either. I still love it though.
  2. How did that happen?
  3. It's that the punch line is so obvious and anti-climactic when it comes - try this dialog: A: 'What did Rommel say to his men before they got into their tanks' B: 'I don't know' A: 'Get into your tanks, men' B: 'Doh!' It's not as funny as most of the other stuff on this thread but that's sort of the point - it is corny.
  4. If I leave here tomorrow...
  5. You may not be alone, some do and some don't!
  6. It looks like one of those late '90s Hyundai coupes with a bodykit and a roof swap.
  7. I know this! PM sent!
  8. What did Field Marshal Rommel say to his men before they got in their tanks? 'Get in your tanks, men!'
  9. Thanks Al, it's a new one on me but I like it a lot!
  10. Yes! See if you can find the original title of this song on the net. I can't post it here but it is funny - apparently Lennon had to change the last word to 'gun' because Paul thought the song was referring to him...
  11. That's quite an office! What's the SP on the two Fords?
  12. er it's 'a soap impression'!
  13. I put a 1/32 vee-dub body on a Scalextric car once, it was quite slow and fell over on tight corners (just like the real thing...) Looked great though! Different ball game from your Chevy, I like that a lot.
  14. What's 'body-English'? Best Healey I've ever seen though!
  15. (Oh Lord won't you buy me a ) Mercedes Benz - Janis Joplin
  16. It's the way he tells 'em! I want this played at my funeral, not that I'm in any hurry for that.
  17. 'Get it On', to be precise
  18. Lovely Any chance of a picture of this and the T'rantula together?
  19. Yes I agree - and I'll always watch The Dambusters when it's repeated - hard to beat as a war film and never repeatable since they used real ex-RAF Lancasters and genuine bomb trial and photo-recce post-raid footage.
  20. So good they named it twice (oh no that's another lyric!)
  21. If you squeeze my lizard I'll put my snake on you I'm a romantic adventurer and I'm a reptile too But it don't make no difference 'Cos I ain't gonna be easy easy easy the only time I'm easy is when I'm....
  22. 'Mean Mr Mustard' - The Beatles, Abbey Road (sleeps in the park shaves in the dark trying to save paper)
  23. Lovely model, but not a Jag IRS. This might be of interest: The first real application of IRS on a street rod came in 1964 on the Don Tognotti “King T” 1914 roadster. It was painted in “chameleon” paint treatment by Gene Winfield, but its hand-made rear end by Walt Reiff was what got most of the attention. “King T” featured a 1955 Chevy center section with the axles cut down to four inches. Half-shafts were added from a GMC truck shortened four feet, and the outer wheel carriers were handcrafted. It was a lot of work, but with all the chrome plating and addition of inboard disc brakes and coilover shocks, the whole assembly was something that raised the bar for rear suspension on a rod, even if it was out of reach for most enthusiasts.
  24. Black Sabbath it is! Thrice.
  25. No problem AlI never knew who did the original Youngblood, though I've known and loved the Leon Russell live version off Bangladesh since that album first came out! I'm a big Bad company fan but think their version is terrible... That's what's good about this thread, the stuff you learn /remember!
