  1. Thank the Lord for small mercies!
  2. And I love this one, especially the version his girlfriend recorded (extra gold stars if you name them both!) The jacks and the queens Have forsaked the courtyard Fifty-two gypsies Now file past the guards In the space where the deuce And the ace once ran wild
  3. More lyrics, anyone? Easier than my last one that no-one got yet! The little children laugh at him behind his back And the banker never wears a mac In the pouring rain
  4. Looks great1 What scale is it?
  5. Are you planning on building a miniature Jay Leno behind the wheel? I've never seen him look so worried, by the way!I'm enjoying this thread.
  6. BMW 2002 turbo, complete with boost gauge.
  7. I only google ones I'm posting, to check I got the lyrics right - and sometimes the lyric sites themselves get the lyrics wrong!

    Aluma-Coupe

So are you repainting this one or building a new one in yellow? Is this model as simple as it looks - does it have an interior? The red one looks good, I like the shape too.
  9. A man opens a tin of dogfood and tips it into his old dog's bowl. The dog comes over and starts to eat, then looks up and says 'This tastes terrible!' His owner is staggered and says 'Y-you can talk? Why haven't you ever said anything before? 'The food's been OK up till now...'
  10. Beds are burning - Midnight Oil. Love it.
  11. Thanks, makes sense! Still a good model and the inlet issue makes a good talking point. I'd put a smiley here but mine aren't available today for some reason.
  12. I love that Studebaker. Back to 'planes - these pilots couldn't even see ahead in level flight! I always wondered how that worked, I know they raced around pylons and were always banking but it still seems like madness. Glorious but still madness!
  13. ELP - Karn evil 9
  14. Thanks Carl, I see it clearly now I know! But I still wonder WHY?
  15. Why not? In my experience a long inlet tract = strong top-end performance.
  16. So, Greg, what is it?
  17. C'mon you psychedelic hard rock fans, here's the chorus (if it helps!) : This body of mine, I wanna get out of this void This body of mine, and I don't wanna be destroyed This body of mine, I don't wanna turn android This body of mine, you gotta help me avoid that
  18. So if you use all the engine internals, does it need the timing set like a real engine? Fantastic work.
  19. Yes - but the underside shots give the game away!

    BMC cars

Really nice, my sister had a grey Minivan with a set of Dunlop Groundhogs, must have been at least 155s! Even our teenage kids hate the new 'Minis', these are proper!
  21. I still have my 2002 turbo road / race car but it's not been on the road for years 'cos life got in the way. I keep dreaming, for me it's the perfect car! I drove various '02s as daily drivers with a bit of club racing thrown in for over 25 years.
  22. Well said, Tim. While there are still real people involved, there will always be unforeseen accidents despite everyone's best efforts to avoid or minimise the effect of them. That's why it always says 'MOTOR RACING IS DANGEROUS' on the tickets. Lets hope Bianchi continues to mend.
  23. A bit more obscure than Freebird: 'Standing on the runway waiting for takeoff I wanna fly, wanna watch me flake off I can't move 'cause the man has a rake off You gotta help me Help me to shake off...'
  24. Lay your hands on me - Jon Bon Jovi
  25. Just wondering how few words it would take! Maybe I should just have said 'If I...', you'd probably still have got it. Overplayed? Not by the band themselves, sadly. Probably not their best either. I still love it though.
