  1. I bought a bourgeois house in the Hollywood hills With a trunkload of hundred thousand dollar bills Man came by to hook up my cable TV We settled in for the night my baby and me We switched 'round and 'round 'til half-past down There was fifty-seven channels and nothin' on Well now home entertainment was my baby's wish So I hopped into town for a satellite dish I tied it to the top of my Japanese car I came home and I pointed it out into the stars A message came back from the great beyond There's fifty-seven channels and nothin' on Well we might' a made some friends with some billionaires We might' a got all nice and friendly If we'd made it upstairs All I got was a note that said "Bye-bye John Our love is fifty-seven channels and nothin' on" So I bought a .44 magnum it was solid steel cast And in the blessed name of Elvis well I just let it blast 'Til my TV lay in pieces there at my feet And they busted me for disturbin' the almighty peace Judge said "What you got in your defense son ?" "Fifty-seven channels and nothin' on" I can see by your eyes friend you're just about gone Fifty-seven channels and nothin' on Fifty-seven channels and nothin'...
  2. Looks like someone gave it a parking ticket! Best thing on the vehicle!
  3. Beautiful. So it runs without a roll hoop or cage? Brave driver!
  4. I first thought the Macho labelling was a bit self-conscious - imagine Clint Eastwood wearing a 'Macho' t-shirt - kinda goes without saying... but then I googled it and I understand a bit more - these things were designed to put some of the grunt back that the emissions laws had sapped, with turbochargers etc. I'd probably still delete the stickers and settle for the stuff under the hood though! Good luck with the project, Brandon.
  5. Well, they did make more than one of them! These bread-and-butter cars do tend to look superficially the same nowadays but keep at it, I'm sure you'll get there!
  6. Is this the first since Dan Gurney's lovely '66 Gurney-Weslake?
  7. I can't see that doing too well in F1 even with Vettel at the controls... It has got a brutal elegance in it's clean form I agree.
  8. Really beautiful, the Italian plates and I badge are so evocative. I always liked these more than most Ferraris. Well done Jürgen!
  9. What do you mean secretly?
  10. They lost their looks when they went front engined, to my mind! Likewise Indycars and dragsters... I still love the sport though. Doh! I meant rear engined!
  11. So easy it sent me galloping off the wrong way totally. PM sent. BTW Hi Geoff - I went to Solihull school, lived at 626 Streetsbrook Road. Good memories!
  12. Well you live and learn!
  13. I may run out of time on this, can't wait to find out what it is!
  14. After a couple of happy hours I conclude it's not car A which has wire wheels but not chain drive, and it's not car B which has chain drive but not wooden wheels! Good one Tulio.
  15. That's my vote. They are all lovely, I can't help but prefer the ones that are based on the real cars but all are so evocative and priceless! Slightly off the point, I think if they were all real and were to run in the same race it would come down to who's piloting the Mercedes, but I'd still vote for El Chueco! Never seen his 250F referred to as a Maz before!
  16. It's up to you what steering wheel you use - but I wonder if the driver can see the gauges? The sled is looking good anyway!
  17. Joe the Pharoah says you should tie 'em to the fender and drag 'em!
  18. My 1953 Riley had hemispherical combustion chambers as do my BMWs! Accept no substitute... but on the other hand it's good to have a bit of a choice I guess.
  19. The Pontiac Bonneville was Syd's, he swapped it for something or other and sadly it didn't work so he never drove it! I had some friends who knew his family. Long after his last recording, they were talking about Syd and the phone rang. It was Syd, he thought they'd called him and wondered what they wanted... Great loss.
  20. Use the force, Wayne!
  21. Actually the looks are starting to grow on me, it's a bit odd but it's got a happy face. I shan't be troubling the car lots to try and get hold of one though...
  22. I love the Beach Boys, but who is in the band nowadays?
  23. PM sent, I recognised just where to start on this one!
