I started this over in the General Modeling section because I couldn't remember which kit this was. Thanks to those who replied and helped me find out just what this one was. I'll be taking this from its current state back to the way it was when I first got through with it some 30 years ago. First will come the clean up, then replacement of the headlights that have long since been knocked off and the installation of the windows. Also I'll be re-conditioning / replacing some of the parts that were damaged from heat along the way like the front tires. The parts will be coming from a spare kit that I picked up this morning. The end result is to not re-vamp this thing but merely to put it back to an original build state and then put it in my display case. I drove 500 miles visit with family and pick this up from my parents house over the 4th of July weekend and its the last of 5 models from that room that I have rescued. The other 4 were under the protection of display cases so they didn't fare this badly. What you are looking at is a model that's been exposed to 30 years of dust and North Texas 95+ degree heat in the back room of my parents house that has no climate control of any kind. So with that. I'll get started Baseline pics:

I really like the exhaust work Jim! Where would you get the exhaust clamps if you were to go that route? -

That sir, is 30 years of sitting out in the heat of a room without air conditioning. The tires have "melted" somewhat. -

Thanks fellas! Rob: That's what I intend to do. I just cleaned up the hood and dipped into Future and I've already got a kit spotted and will use it for the headlamps and windows. I'll be restoring it to the way it was when I finished it and nothing more. -
I built this 30 years ago and is the last kit that I picked up from my parents house over the weekend. This one didn't fare as well as the others that I've picked up from there over the course of the last year or two due to not being in a case. This is probably what the rest of 'em woulda looked like without cases though. My question is what kit is this? I cannot for the life of me remember.

Funny thing about this kit and another reason I want it. These are the only pictures of ANY model I've got from the early years. Here's my Revell "Street Demons" 41 Willys about 30 years ago .... Don't ask about the display or the quality. Ha ha!!! I guess it was my best shot at early photography with a really crappy camera.

Christian: That Electra Glide Harley looks freekin' cool! Carl: Thanks man. I only have the Chopped Duece (which there aint no way in hell I'm payin' 50 bucks for) and the Sedan Delivery ( which is affordable but nowhere near as hard to find as the 41 Willys kit).

Dude this is killer! I like the ideas you come up with. I'll be looking for this one in the Under Glass section for sure! -
Heya Justin. Ben's right on the money IMO. We all crawled before we walked so take 'er slow with stuff like that and you'll have a lot fewer headaches this early on. Good to see you back on this.

Ok I've got the fuel line formed and laid in place. Rear tires are now on as well as front rotor bearing caps. To recap.... This is what the kit boxing has for the chassis and here's where I'm at right now. With rear tire/ wheels installed and fronts test fitted into place.... Still gotta install the exhaust system and a few other things on the underside but we're getting closer.
