After attempting to apply 15+ year old Cutting Edge decals and the results being terrible (the decals just broke up after being applied) I ordered these and got them in the mail yesterday afternoon. I guess it's no secret what I'll be doing this morning! lol
-
Progress looks good on this one Chris! You'll be rewarded for that work on the panel lines later for sure.

Got this in the mail yesterday for the Ju-87 Stuka I'm building for the All the Rest Community Build here. I chanced it and tried to apply the Cutting Edge decals that I've had for 15+ years and it didn't work out well. The Cutting Edge cals just disintegrated after waiting 10 minutes for them to slide off of the backing. I know better to try this but hope got the best of me. Here's the replacements:
Wow that glare really shows up on that pic........!!

I wish Hobby Lobby would Carry Tamiya paint.
That aint NO lie there buddy! A few extra model kits wouln'd hurt either. lol
-
I don't think I'd worry a whole lot about the motor either if I were in your shoes. That finish though...........WOW! I aspire to throw a finish on an automotive build like the one you have. It's another area of modeling I'm lacking in. How'd you achieve the finish?
-
Excellent detail!!!
-
Man that color and finish is da bomb dude!
-
lol It ends when you die. Then your wife sells it to nothing to the next guy and it starts his addiction. Its a cycle......a viscous cycle.
I guess that explains some of the guys I know that have over 1200 kits in their stash. I thought I was bad just having 30 or so.

Ok fellas. Got the bands applied to the fuselage at the rear, at the wingtips on the bottom and now have the gloss applied. Ready for decals...........
and the other side!
-
But as one of the better builders here likes to say, good enough for the girls I go with.
Man I haven't heard that saying in YEARS! Holy smokes I laughed my butt off when I read that because my dad used to say that ALL the time.......and he got in trouble for it too when mom heard him say it! Hahaha.
Outside of the family relations story, this is a great build Ray. I like the imagination used in it and the color is catchy!!
-
Moving ahead on this one nicely Ray! Cool color BTW.
-
You have a cart with it?

Wayne:Thanks man! Been looking for more of that sub.......
Chris:Can't wait to see this shape up.
-
That looks like a good start Chris!
-
Ok dudes! Got the field applied camo all the way on. It's time for a few corrections here and there, then the white bands and it's gloss coat time. After that it's the snakes on the sides of the fuselage and all the rest of the decals!
and the other side.....
-
Looking forward to it Chris!
-
I'm with Ray. That V-1 would be cool! Did I mention that I'm a BIG Luftwaffe nut?

After the factory applied camo finish on my Ju-87 I am now at the point of the field applied camo application. This is proving to be very tough and tedious. I have one shot at this at the risk of stripping all of what I have done to repair any boo boos I make during the process. Heres the start....

I'll go ahead and second Agent G's recommendation on the All the Rest Group Build. It would be a true honor to have this winner in there! Again..............INCREDIBLE!
-
Good God!!!! How in the world did I miss THIS?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

I am currently working on a Cylon Raider from the Battlestar Galactica reboot, I'd like to contribute that one to the group build next.
Hey Danny. Got your pic posted and have you entered in on the intro post for the Raider. Looking forward to this one as I grew up with this stuff!!!
-
Keep it coming Wayne! I love all the details!!
-
Danny: I think that build came out suuuuwweeet!!! I never knew these kinds of models existed until I got here. Good stuff for sure and you did pull it off well!! I'll get this in the completed builds line up and looking forward to that Battlestar Galactica Cylon Raider. I'll get that posted in the line up! Again, way to go man!
Wayne: Man you'll build just about anything won't you? This U-boat is gonna be friggin awesome!

You know that's a good point because I was out of that stuff a few weeks back and was meaning to order some. My wife had me go to HL to pick some stuff up for her hobbies and just happen to stroll down the scale plastic isle there and lo and behold! I couldn't believe my eyes. Maybe it's a sign of things to come..................................
