  1. I'll echo that Ray! Man that's alot of stuff packed onto the top of that bad boy Wayne! Thats all going to look great all painted up.
  2. Chris:As Wayne said, that's going to work just fine. I use the same method on my aircraft interior builds and it works like a dream. Mark:Did you say novice???? That looks great. Automotive builds are something I'm working towards in getting as good as you guys here are. Thumbs up on this build!!!!!! Let me know when you are ready and which picture to use and I'll get you posted on the intro post dude. You know you gotta sign up for round two and show us how you pull some of this kind of good work off. Everybody:Thank you for the encouraging comments. I applied the flat coat this morning and noticed a little silvering in a couple of the decals. I'll have to weather those just a little more to hide some of that mess but other than that it aged/faded the paint nicely. The sun and weather in the Mediterranean theatre was never kind to aircraft.
  3. Got the wash applied to the upper and lower surfaces as well as the elevators. Also been working on stuff like the landing gear assembly and painting. On the topside the panel lines were really brought out but on the bottom the effects of the wash are more apparent with staining and panel line definition I'm finally figuring out how to get the paint coats on thin enough to let the effects of the pre-shading to "bleed through" as clearly seen on the bottom and some of the areas on topside. Haven't gotten good enough yet to remember to pre-shade between the different colored coats of camo. Better luck next build though.
  4. First off Chris: your progress looks good and looking forward to the weathering of that crate/support. Secondly man did you say that right brutha Wayne! My progress has slowed to a crawl for the same reason! Your Sherman is taking a great look on with that fabrication work of yours.
  5. Lookin' good so far Chris! Can't wait to see the weathering you'll be doing to the cart!
  6. Man Ira,the left side of your brain has got to be superhumanlike in development. This stuff you come up with is amazing and it gets pulled off like it belongs! Watching................
  7. The painting, decaling and weathering skills you used really bring this thing to life, and that's not to mention the photography. Great modeling.
  8. Thanks Wayne! Man it's been a while since I've seen you! How's the sub coming?
  9. Thanks Ray!! Can't wait to see another one outta you.
  10. Thanks Chris! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  11. Never a question or an issue with these guys, just straight up service. Got a Stuka with a new box in plastic wrapping and everything that must have totally slipped through the cracks because the box was perfect and the sprues look like a silverback gorilla stepped on 'em. They replaced the kit! In a week!! No complaints at all here with their service.
  12. Lets change the face of this bad boy a little here: The latest:
  13. You know that's a good point because I was out of that stuff a few weeks back and was meaning to order some. My wife had me go to HL to pick some stuff up for her hobbies and just happen to stroll down the scale plastic isle there and lo and behold! I couldn't believe my eyes. Maybe it's a sign of things to come..................................
  14. After attempting to apply 15+ year old Cutting Edge decals and the results being terrible (the decals just broke up after being applied) I ordered these and got them in the mail yesterday afternoon. I guess it's no secret what I'll be doing this morning! lol
  15. Progress looks good on this one Chris! You'll be rewarded for that work on the panel lines later for sure.
  16. Got this in the mail yesterday for the Ju-87 Stuka I'm building for the All the Rest Community Build here. I chanced it and tried to apply the Cutting Edge decals that I've had for 15+ years and it didn't work out well. The Cutting Edge cals just disintegrated after waiting 10 minutes for them to slide off of the backing. I know better to try this but hope got the best of me. Here's the replacements: Wow that glare really shows up on that pic........!!
  17. That aint NO lie there buddy! A few extra model kits wouln'd hurt either. lol
  18. I don't think I'd worry a whole lot about the motor either if I were in your shoes. That finish though...........WOW! I aspire to throw a finish on an automotive build like the one you have. It's another area of modeling I'm lacking in. How'd you achieve the finish?
  19. Man that color and finish is da bomb dude!
  20. I guess that explains some of the guys I know that have over 1200 kits in their stash. I thought I was bad just having 30 or so.
  21. Ok fellas. Got the bands applied to the fuselage at the rear, at the wingtips on the bottom and now have the gloss applied. Ready for decals........... and the other side!
  22. Man I haven't heard that saying in YEARS! Holy smokes I laughed my butt off when I read that because my dad used to say that ALL the time.......and he got in trouble for it too when mom heard him say it! Hahaha. Outside of the family relations story, this is a great build Ray. I like the imagination used in it and the color is catchy!!
