  1. An update from HRM today lists the door weight at 60 pounds. Nice and hefty. Bulletproof statement remains to be proven. That evidently depends on the calibre being fired. So far it has survived rounds from both Nerf and Daisy(that might be a rumor).
  2. Careful there, using a word like rolodex just might identity you as being of certain age:)
  3. To paraphrase a popular movie line" build what you like and they will come",meaning that like minded people will appreciate your models for what you have accomplished and created. I am so blessed to have life-long friendships as a direct result of being involved in the model car building hobby. We are approaching the Thanksgiving holiday so take a few minutes to make a list of the builders you know in one column then in a second column write what that person does( or did) for a living. In a couple minutes you just might have a better appreciation of the diversity that exists in your chosen hobby. Then find yourself thankful for those friendships.
  4. That might depend on what neighborhood you live in or drive through on your way to work. Or maybe it's intended to be marketed to SWAT teams:)
  5. AMT released the Sonny and Cher mustangs kits as well.
  6. The public unveiling was on the news this morning and somebody in his engineering dept is going to be looking for a new job after the supposedly shatter proof side glass did in fact shatter when it was hit with a rock thrown by the Tesla rep on stage. Reportedly Mr.Musk said a few things not suitable for TV or these forums. Maybe the options will include a swivel roof mount for a 50 cal:).
  7. Can you post a link to help us find the site for printing those cool blanket seat covers? Thanks.
  8. Just saw this on my Hot Rod Magazine news letter and am wondering what the modeling community thinks of it. I think some of us could probably build a model of in about 15 minutes with some flat card stock, give it a quick coat of stainless steel rattle can paint and call it done.
  9. Welcome to the best forums Bill. I'm glad to find someone older than I am (77) here. Hope you're enjoying the time you are able to spend on the model bench.
  10. Finally.Success! Very interesting styling. Thanks for persisting in posting the pix.
  11. Modelhaus got their start reproducing parts for promotional models for the Zettermans who are in the business of selling promos. Don was an engineer and his wife Carol was a nurse prior to them both committing them selves full time to their business. Don told me that he quit trying to keep track how many hours he was working at the Modelhaus when he put in 18 hours two days in a row. That's the kind of dedication they had to their craft. After approx 30 years of that level of effort it was time to dial it back and put some fun back into the hobby again. You will not find nicer people than them:)
  12. His other limited run item right now is another '50's Pontiac custom El Camino style pick up.
  13. In answer to your question about the origin of Rick Hanmore' s '57 sedan delivery,it is definitely crime Modelhaus. Don is only making these until the mold becomes unusable then there will not be anymore. He is not going to recast it. Better order now while it's available if you're wanting one.
  14. Thanks to the generosity of a close friend I have one of these in it's way to me. Thanks for your help and consideration.
  15. I actually saw a real one of these Lincolns, albeit a two door, on the interstate about a week ago. It was a dark blue and looked very cool on the move in the midst of all of the other"sameness" normally visible in today's cookie cutter car world of silver four doors and SUV's.
  16. Glad you are still building. Don't worry about building anything other than what pleases you. Enjoy your retirement, I certainly enjoy mine!
  17. Welcome to the forums. Be sure to post your models fir us to enjoy.
  18. Yes of course you are correct. Incidentally the owner announced at our last meeting that after 68 years in that location he will be re-locating the shop to a new location in the Clintonville neighborhood next spring. He will have more room and his lease will more reasonable.I mentioned the bus project to the members and they would like to see at some point when you are available.
  19. Please enlighten us what"TS-21" is.
  20. I look at all of those inside corners in tight places that need to be smoothed and sanded and cringe:)
  21. You Really have to want a '27 T coupe badly to go to this much work! Wowzer!! Looks great.
  22. You might want to consider moving your swamp cooler to the other side of the car. Placing it where you have it is in the driver's line of sight:)
  23. It's easy to see where your bench time is being invested, lots of complicated work going on there. Thanks for the update.
