MOON BEAST! 12 Cylinder, 2000 HP Drag Strip Terror is Finished!
misterNNL replied to Ira's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I also thought about the resemblance to a very streamlined train engine. With all of the parts you have removed from the original kit you have still managed to retain some of the product identity by keeping the side spear the V shape of the front end and the cool windshield shape. Going to be another epic model when completed!! -
We have been married for 50 years. She is still my best friend,my anchor in rough waters and the voice of common sense when I am about to do something stupid. She also has heard my very old line when someone asks how I am and I reply"my wife says I'm better than nobody".The usual responce to that is"well that's not very nice"and I quickly add"it doesn't hurt much more than a sharp stick in the eye".

'27 T Highboy Roadster - Late 50's Show Car Style
misterNNL replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Model Cars
Great project.Anything that gets Tim involved to this extent has got to be exceptional subject material.Beautifuly done! -
Great model.I particularly like the rear 3/4 view. That angle makes me think that this would make a very cool batmobile if it had dual cockpits and windscreens.

I have a friend whose company i manufactures rendering trucks and is looking for someone to produce approximately 200 models for them.A rendering truck is one that travels to butcher shops and slaughtering houses to gather the remains of animals that have been processed for meat. That material is then"rendered"or processed into fertilizer. The potential customer wants them in a size larger than hot wheels brand but smaller than 1/25th.If anyone has the ability to do this project please send me a PM. Thanks for your help.

AMT '49 Ford Customized Coupe the hard way - Update 10-1
misterNNL replied to Bernard Kron's topic in WIP: Model Cars
No one has said this so far so I will...great photos ,crisp and sharp. You also have the ability to add those litte circles to highight exactly where you are working.Looking very nice everall. -
I saw some questions asked concerning the size of the Weaver boom assembly.I did NOT have an original boom to measure, only the winch parts and those were not on the original A frames. This probably one of those times I should use that"this my version"thing.Mine may have come from that"Acme"Co.whose stuff keeps popping up on my workbench.

Great model.Super clean and everything perfectly aligned, symetrical and proportional.I wondered myself if I still had the eyesight and co-ordination to build models after a 20 year hiatis and being 71 years old. This great hobby still has so many great things to offer us all if we're willing to try something new and expand our skills. Some of the best friends I have are those made by having this great hobby in common.

40 Ford Flat Bed "Old Henry"
misterNNL replied to doomcrew's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice job on all of the scratch built parts that went into this build! It just shouts attitude. -
Light commercial is one of my absolute favorite forums and your truck is a great example of that.it dosen't take a lot of imagination to think about this model in 1:1 scale out at 1:00 am pushing several inches of fresh wet and haevy snow out of the way....Ardun doing it's thing...open exhaust roaring....just enough rear tire spin to keep the driver on his "A"game, and every guy in town that knows you and the sound of that truck thinking......there he comes! A model to be proud of for sure.

Rob's resin making thread
misterNNL replied to robertburns's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I just checked again at theoldmotor.com under the heading of GM parade of progress and they have a couple of photos dated 1936 of some of the first vehicles used.Pretty neat stuff ! -
Rob's resin making thread
misterNNL replied to robertburns's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I remember seeing seeing a complete GM progress vehicle a long time ago at a Toledo NNL.Someone had built it in 1/25 scale from wrenshape(not sure of the spelling)and was planning to make if available in resin. That was at least 10 years ago and never saw it again.Anyone know who built it of what happened to it? Concerning the of the potential kits to we car modelers maybe it would be possible to take prepaid orders in advance then produce only enough kits to fill those orders instead of producing a bunch that would then go unsold. These were awsome vehicles then and now and would make some really neat models. How about one built as a rolling hobby shop! A little research on line reveals some earlier ones built in the 1930's that were very intresting as well.I found those images on the oldmotor.com. -
Any update on the progress or availability of your kits?I found a set of photos and sketches with dimensions yesterday that I made as a sophomore in high school(1958)of a '32 Ford BB truck that appeared annually at our local county fair set up to sell Richard's root beer. That will surely be my first bucket list truck build when I get my hands on your kit. Thanks!

Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
misterNNL replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is truly a benchmark model that raises the bar for every builder that strives for perfection.Great photography as well.I will be watching in absolute awe as this progresses! -
Great looking truck! From what I've seen of the weather at what was supposed to be speed week at Bonneville this year they could have used a real truck like this one with a big rubber squeege on that plow to push some water off of the salt flats. How appropriate,a vintage Ardun equipped flat head Ford cleaning off the racing surface. I love the overall design concept of this one. This is one to be proud of for sure.
