  1. That sedan would be a perfect canidate for an Army staff car project.
  2. Looking very good Joe.There is always another detail (or 6)that we can add isn't there? Thanks for sharing!
  3. Great work on those motor mounts!I really like extra attention those ventilated gussetts add.
  4. I will first try to find a domestic source for Fusee product.Everything on Ebay is from the United Kingdom.Has anyone reading this ever purchased the Fusee chain domesticly or know of a source?I have a lot of watch sprockets already.I bought a gallon of old watches at a flea market just to tear apart for the parts. There will not be a problem at the rear wheel as it is completely covered with a full aero dynamic fender.
  5. Thanks guys.I always reach out to the forums for advise and help with techniques and have never been disappointed. There is a great wealth of knowledge and experience right here for the asking. Joe,I will definitely be checkinf out those Fusee drive chains.I plan on posting the results in under glass after it's done. All the parts are scratch built so far.
  6. I bought an Ott brand lit base with the round base because it produces natural light and I love it.Mine came from Hobby lobby but they quit cattying that brand. They are available at Michaels Crafts ad they do carry replacement bulbs there as well.I certainly love mine.I am 72 and still buiding thanks to my Ott lamp.
  7. I am building some 1/25th scale 26" bicycles and am looking for a source of drive chain.I have heard of some photo etched chain being available from China but to be quite honest at my age I no longer have the eye sight to assemble it.I am hoping to find something else that will look or at esst look close. Any suggestions?
  8. Thanks Blair.I look forward to trying your technique for myself as I am sure others also will.Good luck with your surgery.
  9. This all looks very tail heavy to me.I do believe a close model bulding friend of mine told me that some of the real boats were so heavy in the back that the only way to keep them from sinking was to keep them moving or the engine weight would literally pull them under tail first.
  10. Weren't the big boys built by Baldwin in Lima,Ohio? If so I only live about 30 miles from there.
  11. What a fun build to follow!!Sometimes we tend to take ourselves way too seriously.
  12. A very nice build. The engine mods look to be right on the money as well.Toning down the wheel shine was a great idea as it helps focus the eye on the rest of the build instead of those shiny wheels. Thanks for sharing!
  13. This is the best thing I have seen you post so far!You are certainly expanding your skills. The thinness of the sheet metal and rust holes are making it look very realistic. Do you apply the rust color with a small piece of sponge to get that effect? Thanks for continuing to share.
  14. Thanks for sharing your projects with us.Using a plastic chocolate candy box for the rear is pure inspiration.
  15. Outstanding model!Wonderful detailing, weathering and photography. Thanks for sharing with us!!
  16. Very unique build.I agree with those that say you should build for yourself.Anyone that does not like what you choose to build is the one with a problem....not you.
  17. Thanks for posting these photos for us to enjoy.I bought a glue bomb tanker version on Ebay reciently for the tank section and the chain drive system parts. The tank will be part of a replica of a 1920's era fuel delivery truck that was actually used in the small town where I live.I found some original photos of it reciently and am gathering parts for the project. The chain drive will become part of a dual chain drive system that Mack called 6 wheel drive. That is for a huge 8 ton flat bed truck now under construction on my workbench.
  18. Good looking dio so far. Thanks for sharing your skills with the rest of us!
  19. What specific information are you looking for?Dimensions, photo, measurments?I have some copies of original Mack AC stuff that might be useful if you let me know. Hope everyone viewing has a safe and healthy new year!
  20. There seems to be something a little"abby-normal"about him I think!
  21. Yoy have a great eye for slicing and dicing.Without my knowing any more than I do about the actual dimensions of the real cars this looks proportionally correct.Working to mate curved surfaces on those cars is not easy but you have a talent for it.Thanks for sharing the progress with us.I will be watching it this project for sure.
  22. You are a brave man my friend. It is really refreshing to see someone reserecting junked kits to recreate a period racer instead of wanting someone to cast it in resin before attempting a project like this. After all ALL model kits are bacically raw material anyway unless you are going to build an exact replica of the box art. This will be fun to follow.
  23. Anybody can collect old models....but it takes a real man to cut 'em up!
