  1. Thanks man. I originally built it without modifying the width of the chassis. It was way too wide. I have recently cut it apart and narrowed it, and made it a tandem. It may be done soon. I have made some progress on the truck as well.
  2. I'm more than ready for that JT. We'll see how she does with it. I told her many times " it's not a toy".
  3. Thanks guys. She's very excited, and impatient.
  4. My 4 year old daughter wanted her own truck, so I built her a snap kit. I cut the sleeper off and put a stake body from the Ford C600 kit. I shaved the lights and horns, because they will get broken off. I made a heart shaped window in the patch panel (cause she's a girl). The truck will be purple with a pink frame. I threw a Detroit in it because the Cat had been snatched already( she's too young to know any better). I used plastic tanks from a die cast truck I parted out. This is going on her shelf to haul her animals and princesses
  5. We'll, I know you can tackle it. If I can lend a hand with anything, let me know.
  6. Great progress on this Dennis. I know you'll attack the roll-off with the attention to detail shown in your other builds.
  7. Ken, I'm really diggin this build. Is it going to end up with the rear fenders on it? Are you going to build the lowboy for it also?
  8. Awwwww;( well, I guess the rest of us will pick up your slack. And, it's always hot down here in the south. I'm not sweating.
  9. Looks like your making good progress. I'm glad to see you back on this. Have you taken a stab at the hood yet?
  10. This is the only one I've ever built, and still never finished. Rear suspension and axles replaced with a Hendrickson and axles from an Astro kit, wheels from an Autocar kit, rear fenders are modified mixer kit.
  11. Thanks Dennis. That looks like Al Capone riding shotgun. One day I will build one of those beaver tail lowboys. Maybe for an AC tractor.
  12. I'm trying to hit it hard this weekend. I want to at least have the rear end mounted. There's still a lot that has to be done, so we'll see. I drilled 6 holes in the injector pump. My lines are a little closer together than the 1:1, but it'll be ok. I was going to use this copper wire for the lines, but it's not cooperating. I think. I will switch it out with fishing line. I got some more work done on the frame. I like the looks of the chassis' on the dump trucks, so the story will be that this was a dump truck before being turned into a tractor. Building out the rear leaf spring mounts
  13. Ive seen Ford C900 tandems and White 3000 tandems, so go for it. I would use a walking beam suspension. If you wanted it to be period correct, you could make the rear axle a dead axle. So, single drive, tandem axles. This was the case for many tandem conversions. P.S. Im sure somewhere in the U.S. there was a tree service, or some company with a stretched Dodge L700 with tandems and a crane. It is America, after all.
  14. We'll Clayton, it looks like Chuck and Stephen are on board. How many are we up to now?
  15. Thanks Sam. I'm hoping it will be a beast. It's one thing to pump an Autocar, or Mack DM800 full of steroids and resin wheels to make it a Heavy Hauler, but I want something to pre-date the Mack FK I'm working on. We're there any lowboys in the 20's?.......I guess before that it would have been a pack of Clydesdales. How do you put a Tulsa winch on a horse?
  16. Gator, its the only thing I could think of that would total the truck and save the engine!! If it makes you feel any better, the truck driver was loading the crane on the lowboy when the accident happened. The crane operator was home with a beer.
  17. I moved a little further along on the engine. The exhaust manifold has been modified and a flange added. I test fitted it in the frame and all looks good.
  18. Isnt the latest issue the Pepsi delivery truck?
  19. Thanks Dennis. I think I like this better. Ill build another one when the Cummins is ready. This makes the fake backstory more interesting also. Something about a crane falling on a B model.....whole truck was destroyed except the motor....motor was transplanted into the trusty old AK. Yup, that works.
  20. Outstanding work on those distributors. The motor is looking good in primer.
