Were going to need to see a pic of this. Marmon used KW hoods on one of their older models, but they always built their own cabs. They certainly never "modified" parts from other truck makers. Marmon had their own production models and were definitely not a hodge podge of other truck parts. They might have built a truck that "looks" like a Peterbilt....
Anything can happen. As in the 1:1 world, if it fits, itll work! I know the GMC 9500 had the 6-71, and I know the Briggaderes had them, so why not a 6500 repower?
Outstanding work Charles. Having watched this from the beginning, the work involved is amazing. The hoses, ladder, and brass reel are next level details for sure. Once again, amazing work.
Sam, a glider kit is a chassis with the cab and hood, without the rears or the motor and trans. It was a way to get a new truck without getting a new truck. It was great for a wrecked truck, or if your cab was falling apart before the rest of the truck(Freightliner).
So, this is a fire apparatus? I almost picked one of these up at a model show, but I didnt know much about it. I figured it would have some pretty heavy axles and suspension that Im interested to see. Just out of curiosity, how many pieces are in this kit?
Its about time her and I built a snapper. If these are the colors she wants, then we'll do it. Shes got a keen eye for all these trucks. She knows daddys favorite truck is an Otto-car! (Autocar).
Jim, I have all versions of the DM800 and they all have camelback, and the mixer has the beams. If your referring to the hard bar set up that A.I.T.M. sells, I believe that was scratch built by Rick Mark. RNK used to cast it before Dave.
I stand corrected. If thats the case, the Mack and Autocar suspensions and axles were mentioned. I would buy these by the dozens. It would be nice to be able to buy just an engine, or just a dump body or wrecker body without bashing a kit at collector prices.
Keep us posted
Outstanding work JT. Im very impressed with all of the interior work on this trailer. Then I saw the working lift gate. Your definitly a pro with these race trailers. The checkerboard floor is an excellent touch. Just great job all around man. You might have answered this earlier in the thread, but where did you source all of those tool boxes from?
