  1. To be honest, no one seemed interested so I put it to the back. I love building highly detailed, accurate monster trucks, because I loved that stuff back in the 80's. This forum didnt seem to be too monster truck friendly, so I held off. Its about time to finish it though. Thanks for the interest.
  2. I didnt realize it was 1/16. I guess that does limit your options. Excellent job on that Peterbilt 4 axle. That is really an impressive build.May I suggest modifying/updating a Pete 359 to something like a 357?
  3. Looking good. What make and model is it going to be?
  4. Thats a great score and a great price Pavel. Do you have them planned out yet, or are they going in the stash?
  5. I totally agree on the chrome. Keep in mind that these things were marketed for kids. A good selling point for a kid is plenty of chrome, even if its unrealistic engine parts. And Ive driven plenty of rigs with chrome 5th wheels(chuckle). Its just a plus for the model companies that we kept building as adults. Its just that now we know that a Cummins doesnt have a chrome oil pan.
  6. A good set of sharp hobby files makes everything fit. Its just standard procedure for me after all these years. I cut out all of the parts, then file all of the edges, debur the flashing, sand out the ejection pin marks, and start assembly.
  7. Engines, mirrors, and chrome Alcoa wheels. Theres nothing more that I hate as a builder than an AMT engine. Even though most of my trucks have the hoods glued shut, I still put a fully assembled engine in. I dont go full curbside. I really dislike stripping the chrome to assemble the chrome Alcoa wheels, and the mirrors need no explanation. Thank you for starting this post. Ive thought about doing it myself.
  8. This looks great. Im with the others on the 5th wheel. I leave them loose. The only ones Ive glued were for a frameless dump trailer.
  9. Im not suffering, I find it very enjoyable. Let me just say that I dont go to this kind of detail on all of my builds. Maybe 1 out of 10, I go overboard. Sometimes I just want to complete a vision, sometimes I want to see every nut, bolt, hose, wire, and linkage. It just depends on the truck. With this one , I have no idea how Im going to finish it. I just pulled the kit out and started working. 99% of the time I know exactly how I want it to look when its done. This is that other 1%.
  10. Jeez man, looks like youve been pretty hard at it already. Very impressive work on the trailer. This will look great
  11. Thats the beauty, they screw together. You can strip the whole thing down in 2min. Once you pull the body off its all gravy.
  12. Sounds good. Where am I goin?
  13. the pic of the hoods top left road boss mid left road boss bottom left pete 359 mid top Gmc general mid mid Ford louisville mid bottom Sneaky pete pickup (midnight cowboy wrecker) the rest is KW I could identify the rest, but Id have to come over
  14. Dude! Did you build that?!! Details !! Way too cool
  15. Well, as you may have seen earlier in this thread, I have bashed a few first gear wreckers for the bodies. I have 7 to be exact. I stripped the paint, ground off the screw tabs, and glued it together. Here are two that I rebuilt years ago. One I threw a 5th wheel and a winch on it, and the other a flatbed(ford C600 kit) and a load of lumber.I have another that is stripped and in primer(dont know where Im going with it yet) and another cut down to a single axle.
  16. Theres two of my favorite things on those Macks. A mercury sleeper, and a Holmes wrecker. I have a few R700s with Mercurys stashed in boxes for rainey days. I have an R700 Challenger wrecker stashed as well. I look forward to seeing these built.
  17. The wheels from my DM800 are available if you want them, and I resin cast the square tanks. Pm if your interested.
  18. As Jt said, this is very cool. I like everything about it. That trailer is nothing short of impressive. Is this based on a real rig, or plucked from the imagination?
  19. As with all of your builds, excellent work.
  20. The white dump body is from the Autocar kit, the red dump is from the IH paystar 5000 kit, the drum is from the paystar mixer. 3rd pic is KW W900 (i believe the 925 had the tortion bars) 4th pic is an International 4200 5th pic front left green Pete 359, right white Pete 359 back left KW.
  21. As was already said 1st pic is all IH 2nd pic is all Kw 3rd pic is all Pete 4th pic is Kw in the left front, Gmc General back left, Road boss cab and hood front right, and back right is White/Diamond Reo/Autocar cab
  22. Im a huge Motorhead fan, and as a fan I can say that this is the most hilariously awful song ever.period. The video is even more awefully rediculous. If youve never seen it, do yourself a favor and watch. You will never be able to forget it.
