  1. The plastic body is a mess! This one should be fairly simple to do, in aluminum.
  2. Thanks, JC. It should be fun! Well, dang! ?
  3. At one time, I had thought of doing Garlits' first version of the R.E. car, with the fuel tank alongside the engine.
  4. Apparently, my next project has found me. A few weeks back, I saw the attached photo of the Warren, Coburn, Miller "Rain For Rent" dragster (I borrowed this from "Fuel Dragsters-We Did It For Love"), without any "streamlining". The photo kept tugging at my imagination, as I was finishing the Supermod. As with most of my models, this won't be a replica, but, an impression of that car. I'm using the Wynn's Charger chassis, rather than the "Woody"(?) W-C-M ran. I have some Bear Paw rear wheels I got from Don Fahrni. I believe they are from Chuck at Altered States. I reshaped the sidewall of one of the MPC slicks. I mostly just eased the transition between the sidewall and the tread. I think it looks better, this way. I'll need to find some lettering, for them. I will build the body from flashing (this one should be a breeze!). As you can see, I have already cut the front bulkhead. I am replacing the frame rails, from just behind the bulkhead, forward. I will turn a Moon tank for it. The engine is a casting of an early Donovan 417 I built. I had some Donovan valve covers in my parts bin. The blower manifold from Miss Deal will be used. I will build a set of front wires, for it, or, I am considering a set of Mr. Raitz's wheels. They really are pretty! As always, comments, questions and critiques are welcomed. Thanks for looking!
  5. I mentioned that I wanted to post some better engine photos. I think these are something of an improvement.
  6. Thank you, Pierre. Your very kind words are much appreciated!
  7. Thank you, Ray! Glad you like it, Trevor! Thanks! Thanks, Larry!
  8. Thank you, so much, Claude. That manifold was a task! I figured out a great way to make welds, and they can't even be seen!? But, that's what we do, isn't it, my friend? Your streamliner is killer! Thanks so much for your comments, sir!
  9. I've been looking forward to seeing this finished, since I first discovered the thread! It's getting so close, my friend! I love this era of Dodge trucks, and yours is and is going to be fantastic. Excellent work, throughout!
  10. This has come, over the last week, or so. Had to buy a new flex shaft, after I over-revved the old one! Let me just say that I'm happy that didn't go as badly as if might have! Also got extra blades for my Cricut. I've been wanting a 356, for a while. Got this one, shipped, very reasonably! Finally, the Fireball Dragster--what can I say? It's old Monogram! I have a thing...
  11. Yours are the most convincing interiors, I have ever seen. Simply astounding work! Must try techniques! Thank you for sharing them.
  12. Thank you, JC! It was a lot of work, but, I'm pretty happy with it.
  13. I would say that his stuff is as good as it gets. His carbs are unbelievable! I've used his tire decals, as well. The carrier is undetectable. I completely agree with you, regarding his quality.
  14. Along with a photo, here's the link to the "Under Glass" post for the Supermod:
  15. I just completed this project. I spent most of the last year, working on it. The entire fuel system is scratchbuilt. The wing, floor/belly pans, firewall, seat, dash and hood are all hand-formed from aluminum flashing. The seat pad is bookbinding leather. The steering wheel is made from an aluminum flashing rim and spokes, with the grip sides made from Delrin. The assembly is held together with nichrome wire rivets. The braking system is scratchbuilt, as well. I made molds, and cast the calipers and the Halibrand Safety wheels. I need to get some better engine shots. Other than those, I am very happy with these photos! I am happy with this car's overall look, and satisfied with some new techniques I learned, along the way. Check out the construction thread, here: Your questions, critiques and comments are always welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!
  16. Pretty nice, when the first you hear of it, it when it shows up, in your mailbox! Nice job, gentlemen!
  17. This will be the last update, here, until I post a link to the Under Glass section. Just a few more items to finish up. I am completing the mounting of the wing, currently. I got the grille installed. Anyway, she's close! I was in the process of making the fuel cap, when I found this stem winder, in a box of watch parts, and thought--"Hey! That's the right size!"
