  1. I have a 2005 Honda S-2000. Getting in and out of it is likely to be the biggest issue as time progresses! Steve
  2. Basically all commerce has been canceled in the state of Minnesota. I wonder what plans our governor has for all of the small family businesses that he just destroyed. Steve
  3. Younger people might have an interest in the cars that they grew up with........ but they're not stupid! Steve
  4. I think it's a Brooklyn thing. Steve
  5. All that I can suggest Craig is to try this experiment. In 20 years, Put the '57 Coupe Deville out on your boulevard along side the '96 Ford, put a price of $10,000.00 on each one and see which one sells faster. Steve
  6. What you don't know won't hurt you. Steve
  7. I appreciate that Eric. I feel like the rare and unusual kits that I've been building over the past few years deserve the best, and I see no reason to start taking short cuts using untested substances, when a tried and true material like BMF exists. Steve
  8. I have subscribed to the "ten second" rule. As I get older, I find it takes me longer than 5 seconds just to bend over or stand up again. By the way, is that birthday cake? Yeah.......I'm eatin' that! Steve
  9. Correct. More facts. I did say that there will be more cases. So far, .001% of the population has been affected Steve
  10. Continental kits were almost never a factory installed item. They were after market items and they could vary a lot depending on the manufacturer. While some may have had a frame mounted to the spare tire cover itself, it was probably more common to see the license plate mounted directly on the bumper. Steve
  11. Thanks so much everyone!! I really appreciate it. I thought people might like to see a few shots of how the interior window trim scheme worked out. It's difficult to get a camera in there of course, and it's not perfect by any means, but it did help to make the interior roof area look a little more realistic than the obligatory windshield and back glass attached with a pair of runners that you see in these old annuals. Steve
  12. Yeah, the wires have got to go. It's the perfect size for heater hose though! Steve
  13. Then I'm safe!! I just used some "Laser Bond" glue a few minutes ago! Steve
  14. You can call it fear or vigilance or preparedness or whatever, but when people resort to fist fights over a bottle of hand sanitizer or a package of toilet paper, it's not normal in any sense of the word. Steve
  15. Here are the facts. As of March 11th, the CDC was reporting 1,629 cases of COVID-19 in the the US with 41 total deaths associated with it . My little town in west central Minnesota has just over 2.000 residents. More than all of the reported cases so far in a country of 328 million people. There are likely more than 41 people living within a 2 block radius of me. Those are the facts at this time. Everything else is speculation. There will likely be more cases as testing ramps up, but for the time being, this is where we stand. Steve
  16. Thanks Jim! Things are moving along pretty well today. I finished up the front bumper assembly by adding the head light lenses. I also got the glass in place, a rear view mirror added and then proceeded to mate the interior tub, firewall and chassis to the body. A last minute addition of a steering gear box was also finished. Wheels are next! Steve
  17. Got the head light buckets, lenses, grille, glass, rear view mirror, tail lights, rear bumper, interior tub and chassis installed! Pretty good day so far! Steve
  18. Of course. But does it matter? I'm sorry, but you can't stop human interaction with nearly 8 billion people on the planet. You can slow it down, but you will never stop it. We lose, on average, more than 3,000 people every month to automobile crashes just in the U.S. alone! All absolutely unnecessary deaths if we would just ban the automobile! Steve
  19. This is what I've been trying to say. You may still see some of these cars around today, but I really doubt that restoring them 20 years down the road may even be possible. Steve
  20. It's really very simple folks. All we need to do is curl up into the fetal position in a corner of our basements and stay there for a month! Problem solved! Everyone on board? Steve
  21. I'm sorry, but this is the sort of thing that causes the panic that we are seeing. Everything in that post is conjecture. If this happens, if that happens, etc. We act like this sort of thing has never happened before, even though the last apocalypse just happened with Ebola, (which actually kills nearly everyone it infects deader than dead) and before that swine flu, etc, etc, etc. If it doesn't bother anyone, I'll reserve my terror until it's warranted. Steve
  22. What does it say about us as human beings, as we race head long into what is our perceived annihilation as a species, that our apparent largest concern is what we're going to use to wipe our backsides!! Steve
  23. Today I've been working on the headlight, grille and front bumper assembly. I drilled out the molded in headlights way back before I had the chrome parts re-plated. Today I modified some custom head light buckets from the AMT '62 Buick kit to fit the Olds bezels and glued them in place. With the buckets in place, the grille insert had to be cut apart to fit around the buckets which now protruded from the back of the grille/bumper. Then the grille was added. I had already painted the black area around the head lights and the argent area around the grille several days ago. All that is needed now to finish is to install the lenses. I have gotten to the point now where final assembly is approaching very quickly! I hope to have this one finished within the next week or two! Steve
  24. I'll tell you what folks, I'm not going to freak out over it. All that we can do as individuals is continue with our lives as best we can under the circumstances. The last thing anyone needs is an ulcer to go along with their Corona virus. Haven't bought a single roll of toilet paper since this whole thing started! Steve
  25. Fair enough Richard. That's why we're here. To offer opinions and discuss them, as well as talk all things model cars. Only time will tell where this subject might go. Steve
