  1. That's what I thought. But then I read this from an article that another member sent me. "The big Fords could still be ordered with either a 410 horsepower 427 4 barrel, or the dual quad type that delivered 425 horsepower. Ford also continued offering the SOHC through the parts department." That tells me that it would have been possible to get one. Regardless, I'm still planning on the dual quad R code. Steve
  2. This has become one of my all time favorite westerns. "My friend and me got a hankerin' for Switzerland chocolate and a good smoke." "Mose don't start fights, he finishes them." "How about I hold your head under water for just a little while." Steve
  3. I'm not sure about the OP, but I was planning on using the 390 engine from the '67 Cyclone kit with an added dual quad intake to represent a '67 427 R code. The AMT 1967 Galaxie XL kit that I'm working with includes "cammer" parts, but I thought that might be stretching the stock feel that I'm going for. Though I thought that I read somewhere that it was possible to order the SOHC engine in the '67 Galaxie? Steve
  4. I will be interested to hear the answer to this myself. I've been assuming that the 390 from the AMT '67 Cyclone & '66 Fairlane kits are basically the same on the outside as the 427. But then again, I know very little about Ford power plants. Steve
  5. Easy one. "I've killed everything that walks or crawls at one time or another, and I'm here to kill you little Bill, for what you done to Ned." "Any man don't want to get killed, better clear on out the back." "You been talking about that queen of yours again Bob, on Independence day?" "I'll shoot for the queen, and you for.......well.......whomever." Steve
  6. The interior modifications continue. I made a few changes to the dash board, including a collar for the steering wheel, & I also added defroster vents by scribing them in. I also cut a hole in the dash top & inserted a piece of an old grille for a speaker grille. The steering wheel has had a lot more modifications than apparent at first glance. First I removed the horn ring to be thinned & re-applied later. Next, I ground out the center cap and added a locator pin to accept the scratch made "flower pot" center cap. The entire steering wheel rim was thinned down considerably & "grip" detail was cut in. The flower pot was made with a shaped piece of plastic tubing capped off with the center cap from the AMT '66 Ford Fairlane kit. I still have one door panel to finish up & then most likely the console will require some tweaking if I decide to use it. The interior is coming along well. Steve
  7. I saw it once many years ago, but not one of my favorites. Probably why it sounded familiar, but wasn't registering. Steve
  8. Looks more like 1966 Pontiac "Barrier Blue" than "Marina Turquoise". Works for me!! Steve Marina Turquoise Barrier Blue
  9. Sounds like something that I really should know, but it escapes me at the moment. Steve
  10. I'm kind of on the fence with the console on my '67 Ford Galaxie project, so I thought that I would pose the question to any of the big Ford gurus among us. Does anyone know if a '67 Galaxie XL with the R code 427, 4 speed would have come with the console or not? Or would it have been optional? Steve
  11. After getting a little frustrated with trying to do some modifications on this interior tub while intact, I decided that I would cut it apart and transform it into a "platform" style interior to make detailing a little easier. There was a lot more work involved than appears. First, I had to grind off the obligatory arm rest that runs all of the way to the floor in most of these old kit buckets. Then the window cranks were removed, which means that the pleats on the door panels needed to be reworked to eliminate all remaining evidence of them. All of the pleats were re-scribed, deepened & re-shaped for a clean slate. Then the old trim was removed and replaced with pieces o stretched sprue. some filling, sanding, scribing and priming yielded a nice fresh panel to be detailed. I will add a set of arm rests cut from an AMT '67 Cyclone's door panels, a door courtesy light, and a set of window cranks shaved from some other door panels when it's time to finish. Need to finish the other panel & then a few mods to the dash and steering wheel and they will be ready for paint. Body has had any modifications basically finished and is about ready for primer. Steve
  12. Goodfellas! De niro and Pesci, how can you go wrong? Steve
  13. Just a joke guys. It's beautiful! Steve
  14. That's why I didn't know that one. I am a Tarantino fan, but the only movie of his that I didn't care for, in recent memory, was Kill Bill. I never saw the second one. Sometimes I think he gets a little carried away with the gore. My favorites were Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Inglorious Basterds. Django Unchained & The Hateful Eight had their moments, but the carnage went a little overboard. I would like to re-sample Natural Born Killers again some day. Haven't seen it in years & don't remember a lot about it. Steve
  15. Doesn't sound like my genre. Sounds a little like a conversation that might have taken place in a movie like Dead Pool. Steve
  16. By God, that's fairly decent! Steve
  17. Anybody notice an underlying theme here recently? Lots of Coen brothers movies. Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, True Grit. These guys are among the absolute best film makers of our generation, no doubt! Steve
  18. The Big Lebowski. Another great one! Steve
  19. Christmas Vacation. Steve
  20. Most of them from another favorite of mine, Fargo. Steve
  21. Reservoir Dogs. Buscemi is my hero! Steve
  22. "Grab a brew, Don't cost nothin' ." Steve
  23. I'm surprised! I thought that I was the only one who loved this movie. Steve
  24. These quotes might be a little obscure to some, but it's a great, albeit quirky move! "Hey, do these balloons blow up into any funny shapes at all? No......not unless round is funny." "Son, you got a panty on your head." "You want to find an outlaw, hire an outlaw. You want to find a Dunkin' Donuts, call a cop." Steve
  25. Too easy? Steve
