Let's just put it this way. We have Impalas, we have Galaxies. Where are the 88s or 98s, the Roadmasters or Electras? Where are the Mercury Montereys & Parklanes? Where are the Plymouth Furys & Dodge Polaras? I could buy an example of every year of Chevy Belair or Impala from 1955 to 1970 with only a couple of exceptions without leaving my local Hobby Lobby. You're right. I forgot about the Rivs & the '69 Wildcat. The only ones that came to mind right away were the '62 Electra, the '66 Wildcat & the '70 GSX. You'll have to forgive me, my mind works in the way of full sized cars. I always seem to forget about intermediates & compacts. Olds was another one that came to mind, but then I remembered all of the Cutlass's. If you think in terms of full sized Oldsmobiles, Johan did 4 door kits from '59 to '63, (with the 2 door in '60) & then AMT did the '65. Then of course, there were the Johan Toronados. I guess they would be classified as full sized? That's all I can think of at the moment, outside of the earlier promos. Not a single one in current production. Steve

Buick may be right up there too! I can only think of 3 kits off hand. '62 '66 & '70. AMT did the annuals for Buick as well, so if you're willing to spend a few bucks, '58-'66 is an option for them as well. & then there's Mercury & for that matter Chrysler. Not a lot of either of those. I only have 4 Lincolns. '59, '60, '61 & '65. Steve

I plan on continuing working on my vintage kit stash focusing mainly on mid to late 60s full sized cars, possibly punctuated with a couple of modern builds. I have a bunch of rare kits from Johan & MPC that I hope to get built this year, but the way things have been going, realistically, I hope to finish a half dozen of them. These are the ones I hope to build this year. MPC '66 & '67 Bonnevilles. Johan '65, '66 & '67 Plymouth Furys. Johan '66 & '67 Chrysler 300s. AMT 1967 Ford Galaxie. There are a bunch of other ones as well, but this is where I'd like to focus. Steve

Yes. You should be able to go to that particular post after you have deleted the original photo, click on "edit" at the bottom of the post & add whatever photos you like. Steve

Is anyone sure that there was only one seat pattern available? My '69 Grand Prix has one of about 3 different patterns that were available. Steve

I agree with Tom. You might want to start out with spray cans just to get the feel of the painting process & then start fiddling with an airbrush as you go along. I've been building for over 40 years & I still use a lot of spray cans as well as air brush, probably about 75% airbrush, 25% spray cans. Testors "Lacquer System" would also be a good place to start. I use a lot of Duplicolor spray paints as well. The '59 Edsel pictured was done entirely with Duplicolor rattle cans. The '60 Desoto is Testors. Steve

I've seen these ads too & wondered about it. If it actually works, it looks like it could be the answer for applications such as installing glass. I've never tried Bondic either. May have to give it a shot. Steve

The best remedy for that problem is to use an outside photo hosting site such as "Photobucket" or "Fotki". You can then just post directly from that site by just copying & pasting & since this method simply posts a "link" to your photo, it uses no bandwidth & you can post as many photos as you'd like without ever having to delete any. Steve

Progress continues, albeit slow. Finally finished up the interior today. It's a pretty nicely detailed interior straight from the box. The only thing I added was a scratch built steering column, turn signal & tilt wheel levers, door lock buttons & embossing powder on the floor. The kit shifter was missing, so I had to add one. I decided to go with all black because I thought it would go better with the black vinyl top. The "cane" detail on the doors & seat backs adds a nice contrast. There was a boat load of foiling to do on this interior! The body is finished except for some minor detailing, so now I need to focus on the engine & chassis. Hopefully I'll get started on that yet this weekend. Steve

Any automotive type primer will work fine. I use Duplicolor. I buy most of my paint from MCW, a company that mixes automotive lacquers specifically for model cars. It comes in one ounce jars & 1/2 to 3/4 of a jar will usually do a kit depending on what all you are painting. Steve

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news Kris, but you painted the wheels backwards. The only thing that should be body color is the outer wheel edge. Steve

Yes, you'll not have any trouble with it covering any detail. Just be careful about spraying too heavy of coats. It is a little hotter than hobby primers & can craze the plastic if applied too heavy in the first couple of coats. I use several colors of their sandable primer. Gray, white & black. I love them all. Steve

I just have a cheap fluorescent shop light hanging over my bench & a cheap lighted magnifier on it. Cheap works just fine for me too! Steve

Are you trying to delete entire topics, or just attachments (photos) that you've posted. I don't know that there is a way to delete your topics, but you can delete attachments if you're posting pics from your hard drive. Just click on your name in the upper right corner, click on "my attachments" and a page will appear showing all of the photos you have posted. You can then delete which ever ones you would like by clicking on the "trash can" in the right hand column. You can delete individual posts by clicking on the "options" tile at the bottom of your post & then clicking on "delete" in the pop up box. Steve

It's very thin. I use an average of 4 to 5 coats on most of my builds, but that's mostly because it doesn't cover very well. Many times I'll use a coat of Testors primer to cover & then several coats of Duplicolor to give a nice smooth base. I'm not all that sold on Tamiya primer anyway. I have a couple cans, have tried it & was not all that impressed. Steve

Mine too! I only bought 4 tickets & had one matching number. Funny thing though, there were winners close at hand. 7 nurses at my wife's place of work will be sharing $50,000.00. A far cry from 1.5 billion, but better than a poke in the eye! Steve

I'm not much for customs or those type of "lowrider" style wheels, but nobody can say anything negative about that paint!! Fabulous!! Steve
