  1. Metallizer will give you the look your shooting for, but just keep a few things in mind if you use it. First of all the handling issue. I think Frank had a good idea with the polishing after assembly idea. That might keep you from rubbing off too much paint in some areas. Also remember that you absolutely cannot apply tape or foil over any areas that will be exposed on the finished model. The adhesive will pull off the top surface of some of the paint & leave you with a blotchy look that cannot be polished out. I've learned this from simply masking off mufflers painted with "aluminum plate" metallizer to spray the pipes a different color. I've also had it happen when foiling around an aluminum panel on a body. The nice thing about Alclad is, it's a lacquer, so it can take a lot tougher handling once it's dry. I use it on all of my aluminum paneled bodies now versus Metallizer. Steve
  2. Personally, I'd go with Alcad aluminum. The Metallizers lose a lot of their metal "sheen" when you seal coat them. & it would have to be sealed, especially for a body. Steve
  3. My favorites are: Johan: 1965/'66 Plymouth Fury 1966 Chrysler 300 MPC: 1968/'69 Dodge Coronet 1967 Pontiac Bonneville AMT: 1967 Ford Galaxie Steve
  4. Very good Ron! I wondered if Hurdy Gurdy Man might be a "stumper"! Steve
  5. "Then one mornin' she came to me with a tear in her eye, & a sigh on her breath Lord, she said, "Hon, I'm heavy with child." Steve
  6. "Look around you, look up here, take time to make time, make time to be there. Look around, be a part, feel for the winter but don't have a cold heart." Steve
  7. "Histories of ages past, unenlightened shadows cast, down through all eternity, the crying of humanity." Steve
  8. No answer on this one either. "Raise a Little Hell", "Trooper". Steve
  9. This one never got answered. It's called "Don't Misunderstand Me" by the "Rossington-Collins Band". Look it up. I'll bet you'll all recognize it. Steve
  10. Thank you!! Steve
  11. Thanks Joe! I many times have a hard time getting excited about detailing engines, but this "Long Ram" configuration is very unusual & kept me interested. I loved working on it. Steve
  12. Now that's probably one of the best '56 Chrysler builds I've seen Eric! Beautiful work! Steve
  13. I bought a couple of cans of Tamiya primer a couple of months ago. I know a lot of guys love it, but I couldn't tell what all of the hub-bub was about. Based on what the stuff costs, I'll never buy it again. Just my opinion. Steve
  14. I scratch build all of my antennas now Bill. I just use pieces of sprue that I heat, stretch & glue together & then shoot them with Alclad. As far as the heater hoses go, I won't pretend to know all of the ins & outs of early 60s Chrysler cooling systems, but all of the reference photos I saw had that "return" hose I guess you could call it, so to be accurate, I added one. Steve
  15. Thanks guys! Wow, I thought this post was long dead! Steve
  16. Wow! That really brings back some memories. My mother had a white '75 Dodge wagon with the wood grain. I'll never forget how my dad constantly complained about how, although it had a 440 in it, how "gutless" it was! Nice work! Steve
  17. I use very little from Testors in spray cans anymore either. Not only is it because of nozzle issues, but my biggest pet peeve is the fact that a company who's making metallic paints exclusively for model cars can't do something about the wildly out of scale metal flakes in their paint! Steve
  18. Come Monday, Jimmy Buffet. Steve
  19. This one should be a breeze! "Tin soldiers & Nixon coming." Steve
  20. "I remember finding out about you, every day my mind is all around you." Steve
  21. Sorry.....little late on that one! Steve
  22. Deep purple, Hush. Steve
  23. "If you don't like what you got, why don't you change it, if you're world is all screwed up, rearrange it." Steve
  24. Ah....Foghat, Fool for the city! Steve
  25. I should know this one! Steve
