  1. You nailed the sleeper look on this one Tyrone! Very subtle but those rear tires seem to indicate something more than a simple grocery getter type.
  2. Thanks for sharing Nick. A friend of mine from high school is a part of the group that helps set up this show. He shared some pictures on Facebook and it is on my list of shows to hit next year.
  3. Thank you Mike, that is the tire I was thinking of, just had a hard time finding a decent picture of it. Those tires with a decent set of 8 lug wheels, in 2wd and 4wd versions, would be awesome.
  4. Some 8 lug wheels and 7.50x16.5 bias ply tires and I could replicate my Dad's old '71 F-250. I will see if I can find a picture of the wheel and tires I am referring to.
  5. Nice start and as always, I am sure they will be looking great when done!
  6. That is very convincing and realistic. Nice details and weathering.
  7. I will probably be there. As far as the dates and locations, look in the show section here, those meets are advertised with all of the information.
  8. Welcome Zach! This is a great place to learn and share. If you aren't aware, there is a show in Spartanburg this January and another one in Simpsonville in May. Both have a decent turnout for models and a swap meet area to pick up more kits!!
  9. That is what I was alluding to Tim. I suspect we will see the 4wd, just surprised that it isn't this time around.
  10. While that is true, I would be willing to bet that they would sell a boat load of these kits with a 4wd option! I have the front suspension from the Super Stones kit to make one of mine a 4wd, but am lazy enough to just buy a kit that already has the parts in it! LOL!
  11. Any chance this will be the 4wd version we all have been waiting for????
  12. I saw on the Tower Hobbies website that the '84 GMC pickup kits (yes, two!) are listed as late February releases. It was interesting to see one listed as white and one as black.
  13. To have a mid-70's GMC grille, you would need to make your own as the one from the '84 GMC pickup is totally different and nowhere near close. You would be better off starting with the Chevy grille from that kit and re-working it to a GMC.
  14. What pleased me today? Hmmm....The Chicago Bears won and the Green Bay Packers lost, made my day!
  15. Go to the Modelroundup website, I think they carry the Gofer brand of decals and if I remember correctly, they had some pinstripe decals. Bandit Resins also had some pinstripe decals, not sure if they still offer them.
  16. Dang it, I have been meaning to get my last couple of 84 GMC pickups on eBay to cash in and now Round2 has ruined my chances at an early retirement! Nothing on that list that I don't already have, guess I will be spending my lunch money at Revell and Moebius.
  17. nice start, looking forward to seeing this one done.
  18. Watching the Green Bay Packers lose their second game in a row!
  19. Wheel backs are ordered separately, unless the wheels state that they come with the backs. If you know what wheels you are ordering, a quick phone call to Don or Carol will get you the correct answer on the wheel backs.
  20. The Revell Van of similar vintage is a shorty.
  21. I like it, seems to be more "real" than most other car shows.
  22. I once worked with a guy who bought an original '67 Nickey Camaro back in 1981 and it had a black cowl induction hood on it and was pretty sure it was a replacement, although was never able to determine what hood came on it from the dealer.
  23. Yeah Dave, it is very puzzling, although Harry could argue that a metro area the size of Chicago has seen some nice hobby shops close up recently and it is probably four times the size of Columbus and Charlotte combined. All of the Hobby Towns here have closed and the only hobby shop left is in Rock Hill and caters to the R/C crowd. If there is a model to bought, one heads to Hobby Lobby or Michaels; otherwise it is the internet. Given the margins and competition from the internet, not to mention rent on a physical building and one would have to be crazy to have a hobby shop and expect to make money.
  24. Nice of you to share his builds with us Chuck, some nice rigs there!
