  1. Welcome Zach! This is a great place to learn and share. If you aren't aware, there is a show in Spartanburg this January and another one in Simpsonville in May. Both have a decent turnout for models and a swap meet area to pick up more kits!!
  2. That is what I was alluding to Tim. I suspect we will see the 4wd, just surprised that it isn't this time around.
  3. While that is true, I would be willing to bet that they would sell a boat load of these kits with a 4wd option! I have the front suspension from the Super Stones kit to make one of mine a 4wd, but am lazy enough to just buy a kit that already has the parts in it! LOL!
  4. Any chance this will be the 4wd version we all have been waiting for????
  5. I saw on the Tower Hobbies website that the '84 GMC pickup kits (yes, two!) are listed as late February releases. It was interesting to see one listed as white and one as black.
  6. To have a mid-70's GMC grille, you would need to make your own as the one from the '84 GMC pickup is totally different and nowhere near close. You would be better off starting with the Chevy grille from that kit and re-working it to a GMC.
  7. What pleased me today? Hmmm....The Chicago Bears won and the Green Bay Packers lost, made my day!
  8. Go to the Modelroundup website, I think they carry the Gofer brand of decals and if I remember correctly, they had some pinstripe decals. Bandit Resins also had some pinstripe decals, not sure if they still offer them.
  9. Dang it, I have been meaning to get my last couple of 84 GMC pickups on eBay to cash in and now Round2 has ruined my chances at an early retirement! Nothing on that list that I don't already have, guess I will be spending my lunch money at Revell and Moebius.
  10. nice start, looking forward to seeing this one done.
  11. Watching the Green Bay Packers lose their second game in a row!
  12. Wheel backs are ordered separately, unless the wheels state that they come with the backs. If you know what wheels you are ordering, a quick phone call to Don or Carol will get you the correct answer on the wheel backs.
  13. The Revell Van of similar vintage is a shorty.
  14. I like it, seems to be more "real" than most other car shows.
  15. I once worked with a guy who bought an original '67 Nickey Camaro back in 1981 and it had a black cowl induction hood on it and was pretty sure it was a replacement, although was never able to determine what hood came on it from the dealer.
  16. Yeah Dave, it is very puzzling, although Harry could argue that a metro area the size of Chicago has seen some nice hobby shops close up recently and it is probably four times the size of Columbus and Charlotte combined. All of the Hobby Towns here have closed and the only hobby shop left is in Rock Hill and caters to the R/C crowd. If there is a model to bought, one heads to Hobby Lobby or Michaels; otherwise it is the internet. Given the margins and competition from the internet, not to mention rent on a physical building and one would have to be crazy to have a hobby shop and expect to make money.
  17. Nice of you to share his builds with us Chuck, some nice rigs there!
  18. So sad to hear this, based on John's postings here he and Amy were looking forward to a new house and getting back to having some fun after dealing with the death of Amy's mom. Never met John, but his postings here seemed to be a of great guy who finally found his dream job, loved his wife and was enjoying cars of all sort (1:1 and scale). May he rest in peace and may God comfort Amy in these difficult times.
  19. that is looking great, love the color choices!
  20. They sure do Casey, my response included the Scale Resin Detail part number! I have one and it is a very nice piece.
  21. I give funeral directors and those who work in the funeral business much respect as it must be hard to help others with funeral services. It must be especially hard when the deceased are young or taken tragically.
  22. The Revell 69 Camaro Convertible kit does have the SS hood in the kit, I believe either the white car or red car on the box will have the hood you are looking for. I checked my stash and could only find the red car box and it had the hood. I just checked a little closer in the stash, it is the AMT 69 Camaro Convertible kit that has the SS hood, not the Revell. My apologies for the confusion. You can also source the hood from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. They have a kit from Scale Resin Detailers, SRD 7104, that has the correct hood and air cleaner. There was a short run of the Revell 69 Camaro snap tite kits that had the SS hood and standard grille, that should fit if you can find that kit.
  23. I am usually a fan of silver (half my builds tend to end up in that color) but somehow I remember a lot of these being earth tone colors (brown, green, tan). Nice job and done quick! Maybe the silver will grow on me.....
  24. Monogram had a '68 and Revell had a '69. Both were recently re-issued, should be able to find them easy enough.
