  1. Casey, couldn't one create the windows with some clear plastic? IIRC there weren't any compound shapes to those side windows.
  2. Sorry to hear that you initially had problems getting replacement parts and the fact that they sent you a complete kit tells me that they decided it was easier than to take another kit apart. I understand your frustration at being asked to pay the cost of returning the kit but in most cases of customer service, the consumer has some costs involved. For example, if you have a defective TV from Best Buy, you have to return it to the store, they don't come to your house or reimburse you for the gas to drive back and forth. Hopefully Moebius is taking steps to improve their QC so future situations like this one can be avoided. I am planning on buying my first Moebius kit soon when the Ford Pickups come out and hope their aren't any issues.
  3. That is looking beautiful, I really like that color! Great details and weathering job.
  4. Cory, Like Lee said, do a Google search on 69 GTO and draw from those pictures what you want that kit to look like!
  5. Sorry for your loss Dave, hold tight to the memories and take solace in knowing that she is in a better place.
  6. My only comment is................WHEN CAN I ORDER THOSE???????????????????????//// Very nice as always Danny and better cast a bunch of them, I think they will be hot sellers!
  7. Very nice, that looks like it was made for each other! I sure would hate to have to keep that thing clean- between the chrome and black paint you would be polishing it every day!
  8. A friend of mine had a 66 K20 that he converted over to a newer plow setup like this one and the lights were about that high, although I think he raised them later with some blocks. With as high as that truck sits, they should be okay as is. How did you create the 4x4 setup on this truck? I am looking to do a couple of them myself and am not sure if I should scratchbuild the drivetrain or adapt an existing setup.
  9. Nice job on that wrecker, you wouldn't happen to have a sketch of how you made the bed or a drawing of the actual pieces would you? With the Mobeius Ford and Round 2 Ford trucks coming I see a couple of wreckers I would like to do!
  10. Nice! I remember that version of the truck and IIRC they used it again a couple of times when Squad 51 was in the shop.
  11. Great topic Harry and you are correct- shop around! We used to have one of those "Nationwide" insurance companies and when the premiums came due along with a 30% increase, no one at the agency or company could explain why! We are AAA members and used them to find cheaper insurance as they are brokers for several companies, which worked fine for a couple of years (minimal increases) until that company decided to jack our rates up sky high (over 65%- no claims I might add!). Once again we called up AAA and are now insured through their "Members Insurance". In 23 years of home ownership we have only made one claim- hail damaged roof- which I was told was factored into our premiums as the insurance companies know the odds of that happening are pretty good. It's been years since we have had any car claims (knock on wood!) and hope that continues. I have had a company furnished vehicle for the last 18 years and only since we bought a car for my son to start driving 3 years ago did we qualify for the multi car discount. I have never been able to figure out why having 2 vehicles on the road is cheaper for an insurance company than 1!
  12. Very realistic looking, great details! A friend of mine used to have one very similar to this for years, ran through anything but not very comfortable to drive!
  13. Nice job! I have a Dodge kit that I plan on using the recent Revell GMC kit's plow on. Did you do the Sno-Fiter decals yourself?
  14. The internet has opened up a lot more of this hobby for me. From meeting forum members in person, learning about upcoming shows in neighboring states, swapping kits and buying from online vendors to resin bodies and parts, most all of which I would have never known about were it not for the internet and the model car forums. I think the industry has benefited as well. Can you imagine if resin casters relied on going to shows or a small ad in the back of the magazine to sell their product? Remember how we had to wait to read in a magazine what the manufacturers where planning to release next year? The annual "I'd like to see a kit of____" polls the magazines would have us vote for? The hobby is doing well in my eyes and I have plenty to build if another kit never gets released, but I do look forward to some of the announced new and re-issue kits that are coming!
  15. Wow, you can tell I am getting sleepy, my math is failing me! I have seen the Hudsons in a couple and I will be near one tomorrow so I will check then. I have heard that if you can find the person responsible for the model aisle, you might be able to persuade them to order things.
  16. Justin, For what it's worth, once the wrecker bed is on the truck, who will be able to see the wiring or air lines? Unless you are going to display the underside, I don't know if it's necessary. Seeing your WIP pictures might actually get me to build mine that I bought years ago when it first came out!
  17. A couple of sites (Tower Hobbies and Mega Hobby) show a MSRP of $35 and discounted prices of about $27-28. It will be interesting to see if they show up at Hobby Lobby...........a 40% off coupon would put their price at $28, assuming they use the MSRP of $35.
  18. Looks great Jared, nice details and weathering! By the way, that back bumper would be rusted out after a couple of years from all of the salt spray!
  19. Jim, You can order the Chicago favorites online if you miss them that much, I know I have! The best part of going back to Chicago is the food!
  20. Defense wins games and the Seahawks proved that tonight. Peyton could not get it going early on and Seattle was relentless on defense. Was hoping for a close game, as did a bunch of companies that paid millions for commercials!
  21. I hear Chicago may get upwards of 10 or more inches of snow today- you have my condolences as it has be to getting old by now! On the bright side, what little snow we had in Charlotte this week is gone with temps in the 50s today!
  22. Had a friend who's girlfriend turned into his wife after many years of dating. She didn't know much more than how to put gas in her car. She started hanging around Jim, traded her 300ZX for a Camaro, and became a car nut like him and into the car hobby too! She has talked him out of selling some of his collection, stating SHE is too attached to see it go! Take it at face value Craig- she wants to spend time with you and see what it is about model building that you like and enjoy. As others have said, maybe she just wants to learn and start building herself! You might be able to get some nice fingernail polish from her for some cool paint jobs!
  23. Looks like another 6.0 Powersmoke Diesel has bit the dust! You are right, it could make for a great diorama!
  24. Let us know how that works out for you.......................
  25. I took a few minutes tonight to stop by Hobby Lobby to see what was new and found some models on clearance. The Revell 2010 Camaro, 69 Camaro Convertible, 2010 Mustang and the 67 Chevelle Pro Street were all marked down. I also spotted the AMT Showroom Replicas 2011 Camaro Convertible, 2012 Camaro with the USA graphics, 2011 (?) Corvette Convertible were also marked down. I did see a Diamond Reo truck kit marked down too. In the supplies section it appears there was some reductions as well, saw the Tamiya tool kit on clearance for $18. All of the markdowns were 40% off , hopefully whatever they are making room for is on my list for 2014!
