  1. I noticed that too last night and I really like the new format! Thanks Gregg!
  2. Today I want to thank those folks that I have done trades with here- never a problem and always as advertised! I like the idea of the swap section and also the feedback, helps weed out the bad apples.
  3. Thanks for the tip Harry, now I know what to put on my Christmas/Birthday list. Funny thing is, I have noticed lately that the ol eyesight ain't what it used to be.....Dang, I am getting old! I am also going to check Hobby Lobby as they are running that 40% off coupon this week. I know they have those expensive OTT lamps but I wonder if they have something like this???
  4. Whoever suggested you use lime green paint sure is one smart guy! That came out just like I envisioned it, great job Tyrone! If I only had the patience and skill you do maybe my ideas would make it on to some of my models!
  5. Those snappers can end up looking pretty good as you have demonstrated, plus the time saved not building the chassis and engine!
  6. Brush painted? I never would have guessed, that is a nice looking truck. I like the engine upgrade and the wheels. Keep them coming!
  7. How could you forget something that looks that good??? That would be front and center in my display case! Nice job on that Chevell Tonio, love the paint job and the stance
  8. G, I love movie quotes and that one is a classic, especially considering I grew up in Chicago and remember them filming the movie! Thanks for the chuckle!
  9. I used to, when I had whitewalls and white letter tires on my vehicles. And just the other day I used some WIndex to clean the glass on my car- who would've thought you could use chrome remover to clean glass???????????
  10. Today's thanks goes out to those members who post the wonderful eye candy (as Dr. Cranky calls it!) for our viewing pleasure. For me it inspires me to start building some of the kits and also gives me ideas for builds as well. My new years' resolution is to cobble up a photo area and start posting some of my builds, wish me luck!
  11. A lot of us suffer from buying more kits than we can possibly ever hope to build. I know that I can look at my collection of nearly 300 (or more, kinda lost count) kits and tell you what my plans are for each one. While that is all good, truth is I haven't sat at the workbench in 3 months because life, work and family have taken priority. I am envious of those of you that can get to the bench and crank out a model or two (or more) per month when I struggle to get a couple done a year! I have always said that as long as my hobby doesn't prevent me from paying my bills or feed my family, another kit or twenty won't hurt! It also helps to have a supportive wife who realizes that my dream of a 32 Ford Hot Rod or '68 Camaro Z-28 will happen in 1/25 scale and not 1:1 and will be much cheaper. She also knows that if I am at the workbench, at least I am not out drinking and doing something stupid. I know I need to "thin the herd" so to speak and will probably look to get a table at the next show to reduce the collection but that will only serve to create more space for Revell's 2012 releases!
  12. Definitely different! I would imagine it gets quite loud in there! Nice paint job and good use of a so-so kit.
  13. next thing you know he will use oven cleaner to clean the oven!
  14. As Unforgiven said, your skills have come a long way and it shows. Were you going for a stealth look on the car? I only ask because the finish seems more semi-gloss than shiny and I didn't know if that was your goal? Nice job on the interior details, keep it up!
  15. Like Jordan said it resembles the Chevy Van from 71-77 and if I remember correctly, the instructions do not reference a specific year. The only knock is that this van has mild flares molded in the wheel openings so if you want a "stock" van, you must shave them down. The rear end also sits a little high and needs to be lowered to look correct for the stock look. This van is perfect for a work van as it has no windows.
  16. Is that the Atlantic Ocean in the background Dr.? Nice view if it is! Absolutely stunning work here, you have the makings of your next book or DVD going on here. EDIT: I just found this post and realized it was from last year! Dr. Cranky, this is one amazing dio!
  17. Looking good and that is a very sized shop- one I would love to have! The lift is a nice touch and I can't wait to see what is next!
  18. Like the build, the paint job is out of this world, nice job Tyrone! Your builds always amaze me, especially the details. If you were to highlight the graphics, I suggest a lime green or silver as I think that will make the graphics really pop. The detailing would take the patience of a saint and a steady hand but it could be worth it if you are up to the challenge. You might be able to find a fine point pen that will work on the paint job but I would be afraid of it smudging or smearing. Practice on a scrap body, I would hate for you to mess up that paint job!
  19. A big thank you to Harry and Gregg for this forum and injecting some fun into the hobby. I have more thanks for others but I need to save them for the next 12 days.
  20. That sure looks like Harry's winter car to me- ya know so the Mustang stays nice and clean! IIRC that is the countryside near where Harry lives in Metro CHEE-CA-GO. Oh, and Bob Turner says this is not model related and blah, blah ,blah, blah!
  21. The two I bought from The Modelhaus were as perfect as one would expect from Don! Very reasonably priced and it looks great on the mockup. If you can't get any help from the person you bought it from and still want one, contact The Modelhaus and you will be happy.
  22. Congrats to you both Terry, you are a lucky man and may you both have many more years together! I was gonna make a crack about her eyesight (or lack of) but Wayne beat me to it!
  23. Bandit Resins is reworking their mold for their short bed fleetside and hopefully will have it available soon. I was lucky to have bought one at a show earlier this year and need to get building! I like the two trucks Tyrone and am waiting to see how finish these as I have always been impressed with your work. Sean- you aren't the only one who wants that truck, it has been on Christmas list for 21 years and my wife still hasn't bought it for me.......maybe this is the year!
  24. This should be a fun one to watch, hope you can do it quickly as I have modelers' ADD! I will guess that you are going with a full articulating suspension? That engine looks like it has some power, are you sticking with the tunnel ram or are you thinking of using a fuel injection unit? Got any updates yet? :D
