I tried adapting the testarossa rear suspension, but the rear of the car would need to be 1/2 inch wider each side, no room, as the engine almost touches the wheels, and yes, there are no shocks YET, this is a 12 month build, i am trying to work through it though. And yes , there are blatantly obvious muck-ups, and there are mistakes which only a couple of people will ever notice, and the builder quite often did not even know about, we are not all experts, but we do want to try something different, and ENJOY doing something different.

And a sweet ol' Cameo.

OK, only because you asked nicely. This is a pro touring custom "Fastback Camaro". (what if??) A bit wild 60 Chev Twin turbo GTX. Pro-charged 426 Hemi Plymouth 426 Charger

It makes sense to me, the rear is like a basic diff set up, 2 upper and 2 lower arms going to the housing, only suspending the engine, instead of the diff, and the front is a bit F1-ish, open wheeler design from years ago, weather it would work or not, i really don't know, or really care that much, it looks right to me, and many others, like i said, i am not an automotive engineer or anything that requires a degree in anything, i'm just havin fun mate. It is what it is.

Now that's cool. -
And here is a Hot Rod version of Harry's Caddy. Just to be different.

One of my favorite subjects. Chevy Malibu T/T And a Mopar or two for inspiration. i have many more, but i wont bore you. :0

WOW!! That is one super sweet Mopar mate, the amount of scratch building and perfect detail you have put into this build is amazing. And then to finish it off with a great paint job and foil work really sets it on to the top shelf i think, INCREDIBLE BUILD MATE !!
-
These do HOTROD very nicely, done 1, and working on another, but that's just my taste and style, it will look good when done, they have some beautiful lines.

Cheers guys, Kerry, it is a Tamiya Testarossa kit, a pic of it in post #1 mate. Thanks, i fugure, there is no point in doing things by halves, especially if your trying to hide horsepower.

40 Ford Testosterossa, Finally got my head around how the suspension might work, Engine is now suspended, so to speak, front trailing arm goes to the solid axle tube, and the rear arm goes to the hydraulic mounted coil over set up, which is attached to the engine. Front is Ferrari bits, modified, with F1 style inboard shocks. And the stance is sorted.

40' Ford "TESTOSTAROSSA " My sleeperball build. I am NO automotive engineer, or suspension guru, this really did my head in for a while, but, i think i finally kicked its butt.!! As there is no room in the rear for all the correct Ferrari suspension, i decided to bang a solid axle through the trans-axle, and suspend the engine, so to speak. Then made to links to the axle housing, and 2 links to the engine, with "hydraulically controlled coil overs" so to speak, which are given pressure from the A/C unit, now the engine acts like suspension at the rear, and has a pivot point incorporated into the front engine mounts. Sounds complicated, good, i am hopeing to baffle you with brilliance, while feeding you B/S.! And for the front, i have used the A-arms from the Ferrari kit, slightly modified, and instead of putting the shocks in the conventional position, i took a bit of an idea i have seen on open wheel race cars, the shocks are now mounted inboard, and would be electrically actuated of course, just like F1 used to have a few years ago. ( more baffling B/S ) If any of this would work, great, if not, well, its only a model, and it LOOKS convincing. And now, the stance is spot on. !!

What's left of my stash...
DeeCee replied to Stray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some cool subjects still in the stash mate, and a bit of mix n' matching, could also result in some very different and very awesome results too. I still have one of those original Ecto 1 Caddy's too, the possibilities are endless, aren't they. -
That is just GORGEOUS from every angle mate.
-
My son pro streeted his Bad News version.
-
Thanks Dave, but i would need a how to video on how to do a video first though mate, i'm not very technologically advanced, i like to keep it simple.
-
OOOHHH WOW!!!!!!!! That paint job and color is just beautiful mate, really suits it PERFECTLY.
-
Yeah, looking for the right one to use, i put an inverted Hemi scoop in the roof of the Kombi.
-
That looks awesome!!

Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
DeeCee replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is the most amazing work of art i have ever had the pleasure of seeing in the build up stage. If i had the choice of displaying this or a Picasso, this would win, hands down. -
Painted trim vs. BMF
DeeCee replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think BMF is by far the best thing invented for chrome trim, and as a lot of us are older fella's, the hand is getting way too wobbly to ever contemplate doing chrome with a sharpie or paint. -
It turned out pretty good actually, but now needs re-doing, due to some sink back in the putty i used way back then. Looking forward to seeing your's finished again mate,
