1st time daddy right here! IT'S A BOY!
Petetrucker07 replied to Petetrucker07's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Thats the plan Sean. Were going to Knotts Scarey Farm tonight. We did a package deal with dinner, hotel room, tickets into the park, and breakfast. I need to get a better camera, not let moments slip by. Time to really start livin. -
For your bumper you could also use polished stainless strips. The red cabover build i just finished, thats what i used. I think it was 1 inch, in scale is huge but looked alright on the finished truck. When you stretch the drive shaft, find some small aluminum tubing. Thats how i did mine. Polish it, gives it that custom, show truck look with a shiny drive shaft. Also, 1/24 to 1/25 isnt a big difference. But the stacks, 8" in 1/24 will look like 10" on 1/25. The differences arent big, but some are noticable. Just keep that in mind during your build, if you didnt know already.

Thanks everyone!!! Wayne, thanks man. That made me smile. This is a big new chapter in my life, im really excited. People ask me what do i want, boy or girl. I just hope for a healthy baby, thats what i want. Now the wife, she wants a girl. Im sure new parents hope for the next Einstein or Steve Jobs or whoever. But im sure we will do our best, and be askin our family and friends lots ?s. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. -
I have built a few of these. Stretched them out, you can see them in the "under glass" section. I havent had a problem with yet. The cab halves, its best if you have a really flat smooth surface, im lucky enough to have a 20" x 10" piece slab of machinist geanite. Sand the halves with even pressure on the glue surface, prime the surfaces so you can the high and low spots. Just sand till its even all the way around. This will give you a really nice seam, with no putty. Again you can see on my builds, and other builders on here. Next thing, the shifter, theres the shifter it self, and a oval poece the it glues to, that glues to the floor. Glue those together and glue the floor. The instructions say to glue those to linkage and shift box on the frame, leave the cab and frame pieces seperate, the cab will not sit level, it binds up on that. Next thing, the steps, those are very frustrating for me, try stripping the chrome, meditate, what ever you need to do to relax. If have any ?s. just ask around, there are a few guys that have built this kit, with similiar frustrations. Good luck man, cant wait to see what you come up with.
