Question about wreckers with sleepers
Petetrucker07 replied to Fat Brian's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen a few converted into a lounge type set up with chairs. The bed comes in handy if the wrecker operator has a long tow or the driver being towed has been sittin there for a long time and wants a nap on a long to a shop or terminal. -
It's that time of year again. Post your finished builds for the year here, to recap and revisit. My year started out well. I still have 7 that were started this year, yet to be finished. Maybe those will get done next year. My bench time almost disappeared with addition of our first baby. But, I don't mind missing bench time. He's worth the unfinished projects. The projects will be there when ever I'm ready to get back on them. Here are my finished truck builds.

How does this power steering work?
Petetrucker07 replied to truckabilly's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
looks like the lines come off the bottom of the steering box. I'm guessing an early type of hydraulic assist. -

No info on the steering, but the episode of American Trucker these were featured on. Hopefully you can watch it over there. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ctFkUPkHswY -
Moebius tire/wheel sets
Petetrucker07 replied to Mike77's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Moebius rims represent Uni-mount style wheels, which are from about the mid 90s till now. -
Just heard the replay of the Adam Sandler interview. That was good one. Great way to kick off the next 5 years. I'm really lookin forward to hearing who gets booked to sit on the couch next. Get to work FaFa Fooey, aka HTJ, aka Mama Monkey, aka Baba Booey.

This will make things interesting.................
Petetrucker07 replied to Joe Handley's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
^^Yes. Finally someone said it. Quad copter are quite different than drones. Quad copter are the problem. Every 5 to 85 year old can go to the corner 7-11 and buy one for 25 bucks. The drones, those are a different story. The Hobby People ad came this week with the Christmas sales. There are a few drones on sale for 800 to 1500 dollars. I'm willin to guess the copters are the problem. I'm pretty sure the 25 dollar copters, way out number the 1000 dollar drone. But then again, what do I know. -
Moebius tire/wheel sets
Petetrucker07 replied to Mike77's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's what I don't like about the AMT and Revell too. They never seem to be quite right. For me, I think the Moebius rims look way better anyway. I've never really cared for the Revell wheels. -
Moebius tire/wheel sets
Petetrucker07 replied to Mike77's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I mostly use them on my builds, both AMT and Revell. For AMT, you need "plug" the Moebius axle holes then drill for the axle rod. For Revell, they are almost perfect. You need to again plug the Moebius axle hole, the drill it out for the Revell axles. I think the AMT brake drums fit inside the Moebius wheel. If need some pics, let me know, I'll dig through my Photobucket and put them up. -
Revell and West Coast Customs
Petetrucker07 replied to blubaja's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Agreed Harry. I have no interest in anything labeled West Coast Customs. That's all that'll happen. The same Donk kits, with a label or brand. But, if it gets more interested in the hobby, it is good. Hopefully Moebius will put out some regular kits that the mass will be content with. -
Eric would be a good fit, but I think to replace Benjy. I don't know who could actually take the spot for Jackie and Artie. If Jimmy Kimmel didn't have his own show, he'd be in that chair. But, I think someone who could fit, Tracy Morgan, if he would do it. But he might be a bit over the top like Artie. Jeffery Ross would be good too.

Petetrucker07 replied to White7000's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
^^Terry, it was the air start wrecker that was trying to get the "Just Married" couple at the gas station. In the movie it has busted out headlight, probably from somebody's head, and a bent bumper. I really remember hearing the air starter. -

Nice job. -
Yes and no on Jackie. Jackie was funny, but is drama got to be to much, kinda like Benjy now. It was funny then got old. After Jackie it was Artie. Samething, funny for awhile, then his BS got too much. Artie was a bigger part of the show than Jackie ever could've been. But that's what made Artie funny and a fit, till his drug abuse got too much. I hope he re-sign too. But it's so hard to read their attitudes on air. They don't sound any different. The flat Ronnie deal kinda leads towards them returning, but if the show stays together wherever they go it bit still makes sense. I'll be listening very close to the first hour of these last 2 shows.

Looks good. -
Sorry for your loss. Good to see ya gettin back into something to occupy your mind. It's rough, but you can't put yourself in a "box" for very long. I did the same thing after my dad passed. I put myself in said emotional box for 7 years. Then I started gettin back to the things I enjoy and enjoyed with him.

Very classic look. Great job on the resto. I dig it a lot. -
That's an awesome experience Tom. Here we are, 2 shows left and still no decision. I'm guessin he's done with satellite. I just wonder now what's gonna happen, since he said that they all will be doing something.

LA fans are fair weather people for sure. Look at the Clippers, nuff said. Nobody liked them till they were doing well.

There are 2 real options on the table right now. One is the Chargers making a move up the 405 freeway to the old Hollywood Park complex in Inglewood, or the big sports stadium near Staples Center. But part the problem is funding. I just had a conversation with a co-worker tonight about this very subject. The NFL doesn't want to loose ANY money, the people don't want a stadium built with public funds, and private funding isn't there. But, there are a 2 real options, that are very close to a decision. When, who knows. It may never go through based on the track record of this issue over the past 15 or 20 years.
