  1. Steve, could I respectfully ask about the wire you used in the example of the wiring harness, what size or what type it is ? Again I’m very impressed with your work, its builders like you that cause me to strive to become a better builder Ray
  2. Thanks for all the great ideas guys. I have really gotten into engine bay detail lately. I really like your idea of sanding down the firewall and adding real wire , thanks for that Steven. They were all great ideas, you guys are my go to “research center “ lol. I usually don’t post much, but I’m here every day lurking and learning. Ray
  3. I have done a couple of searches but didn’t see anything on this topic. I was wondering if anyone has any tricks they use to paint the wiring without out it becoming a sloppy mess lol Here’s an example I think of a 69 Impala with a lot of wiring detail
  4. I quit stopping a long time ago lol. Here’s a couple of ideas for glass cases from IKEA . This is about 10 years worth of building after retirement, so yes you need more room my friend 🤪
  5. Hey Kaci, Ikea has a couple of pretty good variety of glass cases available, I will get down to my display room in a few and take a couple of pictures for you Ray
  6. Yep ,cases for sure, also helps keep the dust off the models. 😎
  7. Maybe, evandesigns.com.
  8. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments
  9. Hello Andria, Nothing to do about tips on your latest build, which looks really kool. I’m just very happy to see a bright young face digging into this wonderful hobby of ours. I’ve been building all my life off and on and have tried to get any of my 10 grandchildren interested in the hobby with no luck. Don’t get frustrated when things don’t go the way you planned or you make a mistake and ruin a part or the entire build. It’s just a hobby and it’s supposed to be fun. There’s great advice to be had here, don’t hesitate to ask. Enjoy , Ray
  10. Bondo glazing putty has been around forever, and readily available in my area, not sure where you are but I don’t think it’s been discontinued
  11. I think this came out pretty good for my limited skills, it’s painted Tamiya metallic red , with matt clear. I put a Texas 3D Customs, dual holly slant 6 motor in it and tried my skills at engine detailing. Thanks for looking
  12. Great job as always , just curious I’ve noticed that you have been converting some builds lately to right hand drive. Any special reason?
  13. connkurmodelparts.com. I have ordered from them a few times. I have never been disappointed. Their distributors are second to none in my opinion. Very fast delivery and shipping costs are great. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
  14. Wow Mr Ace, 60 at a time ,you must have had a very very larger work area 😎
  15. Charles, I just received my latest order from you which is the dual Holley slant 6. This engine is Fantabulous lol. The detail is incredible. I’m putting it in a 39 Chevy Panel delivery truck. Your engines are second to none. I’m seriously considering swapping out the stock engines in all of my future builds for one of yours. Thanks for what you’re doing for out wonderful hobby. Ray
  16. Chuck, your back stories are just as good as your builds, if you ever give up modeling you can always become a writer. lol
  17. This is my version of the Moebius F350 tow truck. I decided to have a little fun with this kit. I installed a flashing light from Evan Designs, and created my own decals for the Tow Mater logo. I found an app in the App Store called Print to Size. It does a decent job of downsizing photos without losing a lot of clarity. Paint is Tamiya Mica Red and Tamiya Racing White. I also added some small jewelry chain to the sling for a more realistic look Thanks for looking Ray @ IMG_9974.mov
  18. Wow, great job Scott I love the color. I have also thought about rebuilding one of these, hopefully a lot better than the one i built forever ago. Every time i see one of these it reminds me of my grandpa, whenever we were eating pie , he would always say,” I only like two kinds of pie— hot and cold 🤪
  19. It’s a real shame that this happens so frequently anymore. I’m getting scam emails everyday and now I’m also getting scam texts. Bad actors have been around since forever, I guess they’re just moving to the interwebs and our phones to prey on unsuspecting people who fall for their scams. ☹️ Ray
  20. Found this on their website. I would love one of these but a little pricey for me. I’m wondering how hard it would be to add a motor? Ray
  21. If you watch the HPI guys videos, he literally tells you he is building the models so you can see “what’s in the box”. When a new kit is released he gets it from the distributor and builds it on air so we can decide if we want to buy it. He even tells you he is building them super fast for that reason. I think he is valuable to the hobby for the beginner and the seasoned builder alike. If you’re interested in a new release, he’s probably going to have it and build it. In my opinion that’s a great way to decide whether or not you want to purchase the kit. As for the beginner, they might watch one of his videos and say , “I can do this “. Ray
  22. Evansdesigns is a great company. They have lots of led options. I have purchased from them a few times now. I bought a flashing light set up from them but had to incorporate it into the light bar that came with this kit, lots of work , but I’m happy with the outcome IMG_9252.mov
  23. Call me confused, I don’t understand what you’re trying to describe
  24. I can’t remember which kit it was from , but I used tires and wheels from a big rig kit that I had laying around. Worked for me.
