Well done Stan, the Vega turned out nicely.

Well done, Matt I'm liking that Fokker. I have a Curtiss P-6E Hawk started. It's Classic Airframes.

Very nice models, Tyrone. The C10 is my favorite.

All nicely done Bernard, the 27T is my fav.

The calender year 2014 was a definite changing point for me. Filled with personal struggle and much accomplishment. As for the Hobby, I stepped away from the "Short Track " subject and concentrated on the beloved "Custom Car" scene. And I have enjoyed it very much, thanks for all the memories...

'60 Chevy Pickup Mild Custom
James2 replied to Dirty Dave's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very coll project, I am watching... -
I never intended to cut it up, and this is the 59 Buick I did, http://s176.photobucket.com/user/fredjames_2007/library/59%20Buick?sort=2&page=1 Using the same methods I hope to achieve another mild custom. This one retains almost all of the original parts except for the tail lights. (Modelhaus) It even has the original glass, polished up of course!

Nicely done Bernard, I like it just fine!

It is a pretty nice piece, purchased from a friend. There are a few repairs to make but I'll save those for the WIP thread when I start the build. I had a feeling the TD kit was an odd size. So is my AMT 1/25? I will most likely use the screw bottom chassis as I like to keep the basic kit parts together. My main idea is to change grills and lights, shave and massage the body some and install some cool tire/wheel combo. And of course a nice paint job!

I purchased this AMT 60 El Camino as a Christmas present for myself and will be doing another restore/mild custom similar to the Buick I did this past year. While searching for parts I came across one of the Tom D. Street Fighter kits. Are the scales the same? Has anyone tried interchanging parts with these kits? What other custom options are there for the old screw bottom?

Thanks guys! The wheels are very nice, you'd think the major manufacturers would catch on to that. Instead of re-pops of older things!

I'm pleased this thread is still going! And only 153 more pages needed to over take the negative thought evoking Irked thread...

Starting a new build from the Texaco Chevy Truck kit by AMT. Adding my own twists like a stretched 67 Corvette chassis, side mount Webber carbs and some PB tire/wheels. I also shortened the bed 6 scale inches, added an Olds bumper and some deep headlights. I hope to apply a nice fade paint scheme. Lets see where it goes...

Ford Custom Pickup....
James2 replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I like almost every thing about, the wheel tire combo, the stance and I'm sure the grill choice will be cool no matter which one you use. I just can't get past the Chevy fenders! Ford fenders with custom lights would look much better. -
I survived yet another very unproductive production meeting today!

It most be an app situation, my iphone is the same way. but my laptop or pc are fine!

Boonie's New Boss
James2 replied to James2's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks guys, and that's a great looking model Roy! -
Very nice model, I'm a sucker for a fade. Not sure about the dechrome but the over all paint design is well done. And the all important stance is spot-on.

Just beautiful! Very well done, great details & weathering, perfect colors, smooth paint and that all important stance. A model that makes me smile! -

Pinstripes Garage https://www.facebook.com/groups/112044882202139/ A few I have done. There is a lot of info out there, but the basic's are pelleting the brush and practice, practice, practice! This is as good as it gets right here, Ed Roth interviewing Von Dutch. It's six parts, and well worth the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gtb6991Hxc
