  1. Thanks guys! I really enjoyed this one myself.
  2. Sounds Great Jim! Can't wait to see it.
  3. SMOOTH!
  4. Ya gotta love those PB builds. Nicely done.
  5. Thanks Greg, can't wait to see what you come up with.
  6. Getting ever closer to some paint. Made some tail lights from aluminium tube and red plastic. Not finished with the mounting but I kinda like the Tweety Pie grill. A little more fitting and sanding and it'll be ready for primer.
  7. There's no surf in Cleveland, but here's a few more pictures. Thanks again for the kind words.
  8. Very well done Ira, Nice and Smooth! Are the Tribal Stripes painted or decal?
  9. Thanks! No, Airbrushed the red first then cut some thin Tamiya tape and followed the edge, masked it off again then shot the blue. Yes it did. And thank you!
  10. Thanks guys! The tires are from Plastic Performance Products, they make a lot of short track items. You can do a search to find your best supplier.
  11. Just finished up today. Revell kits including parts from the R@t Roadster, five window and sedan. Some PPP Asphalt tires out back with Garlit wheels, Ohio George wheels and tires up front. Blue tape seat belts and Detail Master buckles, blue flock on the floor. Black and blue water color wash and Tamiya paint on the the rest. Scratch made roof rack. Had a little set back with the decals, but Shardik came through for me in a big way, Thanks Johann! Here is a link to the build... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72319 And as always thanks for viewing! J2
  12. Was able to finish this one this afternoon, view in "Under Glass"
  13. That's because it's plastic! Thanks for the interest and comments....
  14. Your welcome Bill, hope it works out for you.
  15. Some great build'n here!
  16. Here is where I made the cuts. The tank glued right back in place with little sanding and I change the engine mount angle to gain clearance. I also left the floor pan in place but now it is more of a belly pan. Thanks for looking and commenting! And this is the what I'm working on. Trying to put the Catalina interior in the 32 is alot like trying to put 10 lbs. of sugar in a 5 lbs. bag.
  17. A few pix of the Pontiac engine, louvered trunk and a possible grill... And the roof cuts....
  18. Bill, are you referring to the body? Thanks Richard, I'm putting a parts box blown Pontiac engine together right now.
  19. KITBASHING is defiantly more than a few parts added to a kit from another. Usually I would call that PARTS BOX building. For me KITBASHING is combining components from two or more kits to create something uniquely custom. Or something unavailable from a manufacturer. But you can call it what ever you like, just build it!
  20. Thanks for the comments guys. Joshua, those are in the new Revell R@t Roadster kit. Very nicely done and many other cool parts as well.
  21. This will be an exercise in styrene imagineering. While waiting for some pieces to finish the Surf Rod I mocked this up and decided it would be pretty cool. The first thing I did was to flip the gas tank, I add a filler still. Instead of flipping the bags and shock mounts. I cut the center section free and flipped it, leaving the mounts intact and a stronger mount. The front axle is from a 33 Willy's kit, flipped of course. The body is a Revell 5-window chopped 3 1/2" (scale). I also cut up the Wild Bill's decal to fit much better. The engine is only for mock up. Thanks for the interest...
  22. Like so many things today, it looks non-American!
