  1. Really nice!
  2. Very cool John, glad to see those headers all wrapped up in there too!
  3. Right you are, Jim! I'm thinking Surf, Mica Blue, White and an accent color from the decal. I'd like to keep the 302 but maybe add a street blower. Something manageable.
  4. I generally buy a kit based on an idea for the build. After that it's on to the next kit. Exception to that would be the Revell 32 Ford, 57 Chevy and the like. Because there are way to many idea's bouncing around in my head!
  5. Thanks guys, I plan to get a bit done today. My work van is in the shop for repairs.
  6. After a little cutting and mock up I am pretty happy with the stance and look. Now Hot Rod Shop or Surf Shop? (Ignore the tape please!) Also here is a link to Pete&Jake's, http://www.peteandjakes.com/

Thanks, I searched the web for lace paint jobs. Not many how to's but I did find some cool stuff here on MCM.
  8. Up next from my short list is another gem found in the net. I really like the stance on this one and the over all attitude of this Rod says it all. Again drawing from my parts box, The Revell kits are a great source, this one came from feebay cheap. Wheels are from the new Ohio George kit and PPP modified. Let's see where this leads...
  9. Depends what part of the country your in, here it would be rust!

Thank you, I like how the front turned out also. I'll save the truck grill for another project. The lower body was painted with Dull Clear over hot rod primer.

Thanks again guys, and the good Doctor always has just what you need, doesn't he!
  12. I have found good lighting to be my best tool. Using the shadow or in some cases the reflection of light, I can see the desired cut line clearer. It is best to use a "NEW" blade and keep it at a low angle. I also will use the blade without a handle some times, seems to help with tight detail. I would suggest practice on a junker to find the way that best suits you.
  13. Can be seen in "UG" section...
  14. Impressive conversion! Gotta love a cool long roof.

Thank you for the kind words. Here is a roof shot as requested. I think I could have cleaned it up a little better before clearing, but we all live and learn. It makes a cool shelf model in my cabinet.

Just finished up this evening, (still need clear headlight lens), pretty basic underneath. Dark grey primer and dull clear, the roof is Tamiya lime green with a clear orange top coat. And a little black lace. The seats are a pattern printed on tissue paper as seen here on MCM. Wheels/tires are from a Impala kit 62/60. Still need a little touch up and clean'n. Thanks for looking.... couple more...
  17. All of the above!

    Surf Rod

Very nice and thanks for not calling it a ratrod!
  19. Ya gotta love a 55 Chubby. Why not make a styrene roll cage?
  20. Well done, nice skills!
  21. Well done Doc, I can smell the salt from here!
  22. Very cool, great looking stocker.
  23. This is kinda new territory for me. I will attempt to make the inner door panels as close to real as possible. Here is the beginnings of that, very tedious but will continue forward. Also I broke the area where the A pillar meets the fender. I have re-glued it but I think taping the windshield in place should prevent this from happening again.
