Nice clean build and your paint looks smooth. Except for the modern motor, I like what I see.
  3. I know what you mean about researching short trackers on the web, the more you look the more confusing it can get! You've done an outstanding job making this look right, nice work all around.

    Salt Rod

Yes, I did, no, narrowed, amt 36 ford, TS-68, Thank you for the interest.
  5. What a nice clean build, fine paint, great detail and not overly done.

    Salt Rod

Thank you all, your kindness goes a long way.
  7. You can get great results with Tamiya clear colors and different base colors. And this T shows how good they look! Very nice build BK, it's got that look.

    Salt Rod

Thank you kindly. I had to glue the hood to keep things aligned properly, so I guess it might be a curbside. The paint is Tamiya Drk Blue Metalic. And the top is a cut down AMT 36 Ford piece.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it, here is the pan, made from styrene sheet. And paint with Alcad Whit Aluminium. And resin louver decals found in the model rail road section of my LHS.

    Salt Rod

With a full belly pan. I built this last year but decided it needed a top. I added a light salt wash to the tires also. Really didn't want to go to far with the weathering. Just the appearance of a Hot Rod taken to Bonneville as a run about. Link to build: http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w184/fredjames_2007/Belly%20Pan%20Roadster/
  11. Another aaamaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzing build. Your attention to detail, eye for scale and subtle weathering continue to inspire many.
  12. I like what you have so far!
  13. Looks like a nice start. Watch out for those knives! I'm 52 yr old and still keep band-aids in reach of the bench.
  14. Definitely SCRATCH BUILDING, good stuff!
  15. Great build, you don't see many of these and yours is spot on!
  16. Outstanding build, nice job!
  17. First time in four yr, won't be going.
  18. This is what I came up with for the lights. Boxed in the openings with styrene and robbed the lights from a Revell Tweety Pie kit. The clear light covers really blur the lights but it looks a lot better than the decals. Also pictured are the wheels I'll be using. I might try to deepen one pair for the rear wheels. Maybe?
  19. Sweet and Smooth!
  20. This is the closet I know of. I believe he is not casting right now though. FRW has a similar body but alas, he is not taking orders either! http://public.fotki....1005.html#media This is what I did with Fred's...
  21. Well done, low and clean, just the way I like'em. What is the radi hose made from?
  22. Thanks guys. I will be using the kit suppied decals, they are made be Cartograf, and I'm told they are very nice. I'll be interested t see how I actual do the quad (Cibie) lights as well! I purchased a set of Minilites in resin from febay. I'm trying different tire combos and will show those later. My goal is to make a respectable resemblance of the 1:1 race car. Thanks again for the interest. This forum inspires me to do the best I can do.
  23. This is a project I have been wanting to do for some time. Like so many builds, the more you research the more confusing and blurred the big picture becomes. With that in mind, this is not a replica, it will be my rendition of John Greenwood's Corvette. Here is some of the reference I will use. http://www.docrebuil...r-web/gw01.html http://www.corvetteb...nterey-auction/ http://www.racingspo...1-03-20-048.jp I started with Revell kit, using a set of extra fender flares from one kit for the front fenders. I hope to make a set of the fixed head lights and I have raised the wiper door as seen on the racer. Here is what I have so far....
