It’s odd that the decals silvered like that on gloss paint. Usually that happens with flat or matte finish. Clear coat under decals helps, but over won’t. IMHO Were the decals after market?

Just lovely! Nicely built clean and shiny. Color and stance with attitude, I like it! (Looks like it came from the sister bench as my recent 57.)

After some more test shots I settled on Tamiya Pink Pearl base and Clear Orange top coat. This is before any clear or polish. Time to let it cure….

This looks much better than the previous pictures, I missed the reshaping of the B pillars but was pleased to see the new version. Well done.

Temperatures here have been brutally cold so painting in the garage is not an option. I did get everything primed and put a basic interior together. Once it’s installed you really can’t see much detail anyway. Also did a test shot of a faded look using clear red/blue over light and dark base metallic. I have a clear Orange I might try as well.

My 1st Big Rig "Blue Collar"

Would this be a correct engine color for this build? It seems there are several different colors I find on-line, just like the internet the more ya look the worse it gets! -
Historically correct modeling is very rewarding, I did two of the Grand Sport Corvettes years ago. Your looks great, I like how you accomplished the tape, the foil work is well done and the scratch made taillights and fin are outstanding. In the last picture there is a comment at the lower left stating "the snow-tired car" I'd love to see that pic. Could you share the title of this book?

Well done, clean and nicely finished. I like it!

I have had this one JSJ Detail body so long I can’t remember how I got it. It has a few issues, thick in some areas that won’t allow the interior tub to fit. A thin spot on the roof, a lot of flash that I started to remove and a slight twist in the trunk area. I won’t be using this one on a build, Since Drag City has such beautiful parts but, I found this post and thought I’d share the history for just an interesting topic

My 1st Big Rig "Blue Collar"

A little more frame cover and exhaust work. Made up a better support with braces and then removed the kit chrome and upper pipe from the mufflers. I used some styrene tubing, slash cut at 60deg. I may have to make my own header pipe but that's ok with me. I also added a recess for the airline connections. Thoughts? -

New Year day one tinkering and problem solving. Funny how the instructions are almost useless. But since I’m customizing it doesn’t matter. I’m just having fun…. -
This looks very nice, clean build and shiny smooth paint. And a Gasser!
