Disaster has struck! Paint failure while removing mask at two tone. I used 2x clear from Splash Paint, IDK if it will come off.

My 1st Big Rig "Blue Collar"

Preliminary set up for the head light correction. My idea is to remove the pieces inside the blue lines and then switch left for right. The offset layout would allow the lights to set lower with minimal damage to the cab. The hard part will be keeping both pieces the same size. Any thoughts? -
Freightliner COE (yes, another one!)

I am currently working on the same kit, my first big truck. I like what you have done here thanks for sharing it. -

Not sure how professional it will be but I will do my best. Thanks, I had to shorten the cross bracing just a bit but all seem as straight and square as it can be. And yes it will be lowered! -

I am glueing the frame together next, hopefully I can keep things straight and untwisted. Taking my time, using machinist blocks, clamps and squares. I think it will be good. I also took a fair amount of time prepping the body and glueing the seams together kind of like a plane fuselage. The seams turned out pretty flush and I'll be trying some Archer resin rivets when the time comes. I am debating on lowering the headlights too, I have an idea that might make that relatively easy. -
Thanks, I’m down to fine tuning the body mods now. Flow is the goal….

So after some more research I decided on a 220” WB, which works out to be 2”. I took a deep breath, cut the frame rails and glued things back together with thin aluminum as backer. -
First full coat of primer, still have some fine tuning to do and the tail lights. Pretty smooth, door line scribed also.

Deadline has come and gone but that doesn't really matter. I am more curious to see what happens next! Will there be a sister thread with just finished 32 Tudors'?

Yes it did, and that was my thought when I saw the rails. -

My search indicates 280”-310” WB. Still searching, this is all fairly new to me. -
Another post about “What is it” gave me an idea. I’ve posted these items to see what they are. Wrong answers only. Feel free to join in, post up your own parts. Tag the item in your answer.

^^^^^ Yes, they will be a challenge, but I'll give it my best. I think the seams came out as smooth as can be expected, I'm sure the rivets will be a hurdle. But I think the Archer resin rivets might take care of those. I'm in no hurry on this one. I will be stretching the frame next.... -
That is why I believe my bench time increases, less of other things to do outside. It is true, the older I get the less a care about winter. Stuck in Ohio....

It comes around every year, Fall, the changing leaves, cooler temps and more rain, then that four-letter word we all love. SNOW! I have noticed, for me it means more bench time. Less time outdoors and more time building models. When it comes to building, do you slow down, increase or stay the same year-round? My painting slows way down due to the fact my equipment is in the garage, but bench time! It goes up....

I made a template and secured the crossbar and installed the teeth one at a time, one side at a time.

Kit arrived on Monday 10/28, I opened it up for a quick glance and stowed it away, but I can’t leave it alone. After researching all the issues with the cab, I decided to assemble it today. I used a 220grit flat surface to straighten the edges and then tape and liquid cement to slowly glue the outside seams together. Then removed the tape and did the inside. The rear panel was undersized so a cut a strip of styrene (red) for filler and glued both side. So this will be my winter build….

That trim looks really nice, I haven’t got to that point yet. I have been rough shaping the body and bumpers. I had these in the spare parts drawer. I also glued up a grill from an AMT Blue Printer Parts Pack #8158. I may even use the 392 engine from the same pack.

I have visited the website recently, just window shopping. The stacks look nice. Those doors look like they will need considerable sanding. What do you think of the parts?
