No, I hand painted them with Molotow Chrome and a very small brush I custom cut.

On the other hand, I have no plan to retire. I just turned 64 and every morning wake up well before the alarm, make coffee, get dressed and go to work. Not saying I wouldn't retire just don't have the plan (need) to....

Project “Y” I guess because “X” was taken. Revell California Wheels kit, tub made from script bottle, wheel/tires from the AMT 57 Corvette Gasser kit. Engine from the Rat Roadster by Revell, scratch built exhaust with x pipe. Stock interior with Ken’s Fuzzy Fur, BMF and several black sheens. Body is Testors Yellow enamel no clear, BMF trim and a scratch made scoop. I will say this was a fun one!

Nicely detailed and shiny, I like it....

Thanks for the response, would that be a 22.5 in scale? Nice truck too. The wheels I purchased measure 23mm, the search for tires begins.

Could someone measure and post the inside diameter of these tires, please. Trying to check rim sizes, Thanks

Hopefully not too low! Since I haven't glued the two-piece air bags together, there is room for adjustment. I'll attempt to lower the front axle next. I found this interesting: PettyKW43 Posted June 12, 2019 The front axel on these kits are actually not too wide , it’s the engineering of the drums and backing plates that are the problem, and require that you thin out the components ( including the wheels from the spindle side ) . Then they will fit under the cab. But prototypically they did stick out slightly on the the standard cab. And this: from a 2018 FineScale Modeler, I omitted the front brakes on this one as a lot of folks have suggested on other sites and it's going to help put the wheels back under the fenders the way they are supposed to be. Assembly part 1: layout and test fit I left the assembly unglued for painting and had to remove some pins to fit the AMT chassis U-bolts and shock plates -

Wheels are very nice, minimal clean up, alignment pins and smooth. Great details too…. -

Seeing wasn't an issue, keeping the yellow to stay on the edges is always an issue. All went well except the peak on top of the fenders! Not sure what I will do about that, if anything.... Thanks for the interest.

Black sheep Custom Design delivered today. Low air ride and custom wheels, great packaging. In boxing to follow. -
I did manage to paint the backup body for the 57 today. I decanted this old Testors Yellow I found in the paint box. A little clean up and polish it should be fine.

Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?

Not the best pic, but this was my 71 Chevy with the kids and hounds. Cody and I road-tripped from Portage co. to Des Moines, Iowa with a Shovelhead chopper I built and delivered. It was a trip to remember! I gave the truck to Cody eventually and then he passed of suicide in 2020, I think of him and that trip often. -
Not sure if it was discussed, but if you place the tubbing inside of a snug spring and gently bend the tube will not buckle as easily. I use a verity of electronic/auto springs somewhat like you would find in distributor weights. Just a thought....

Another small update, test fitting fuel tanks. Relocated the filler on the right side to match left side and mock-up of the chassis covers. I ordered these blacksheepcustomdesigns on eBay parts. One question for those who did it- How much should the front axle be narrowed?
