Thanks Alan, I use Oven Cleaner, the real brand not the knock off. It does a great job for me. Here’s a small update I filled the sink marks in the rocker boxes, aka Panhead and the back bone of the frame. This thing is so small holding and sanding is challenging. Next I started cleaning up the Springer front end. This kits fork leg was not molded correctly and they were bent badly. I ended up modifying the axle spacer and engineering my own assembly order. Having built several large scale bike kits and a few 1:1 bike helps.

29 Ford Model A Hot Rod Pick up and Chopper
James2 replied to James2's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
If your interested, I started a thread on the chopper build. -
This will be a in between’r build. I will try to document as much as possible. After dechrome I cleaned gently with a tooth brush. To say the pieces are small is a huge understatement, and just as finicky. Alignment pins are useless. I found it much easier to remove them and clamp parts together with alligator clips. I like liquid glue for this so I can do sections at a time for better alignment. There is a lot of cleanup needed, magnifying glass is recommended!

Thanks Karl, I had to work this morning but I did some building last night and this afternoon. Body and paint next. Need some dry weather though.

Well I miscalculated the wishbone and had to switch to some hairpin braces. I also got the exhaust made and installed along with some fuel lines.

Very nice, clean and tidy.

Well I did do some more today. Chassis is assembled, engine is wired and installed. Still need to add fuel lines, paint the interior and finish final body work before paint.

Stunning fit and finish. Well done sir. -
Having built a couple of these kits I know they are hard to get right and somewhat finicky to say the least. You have even added more detail to a great subject matter and a fine looking model.

Good looking stuff right there....

Thanks Ed, I find all your parts to be top shelf. IMO, the AMT 34 Ford is overlooked quite often. But is like the AMT 40 Ford. Nice kits to bash a nice model. I also feel the 34 Ford in general doesn’t receive the attention that 32’s do, both in 1:1 and scale. As far as complaints go, we all need thick skin in this hobby. Here is a little cold evening update. I added some ribs to the firewall area. and then made up my own headlight mounts. Loosely mocked up of course.

Some bench time today. Mostly pieces and parts fine tuning and fitment. Making a new windshield frame. Headers and misc ready for paint. Wheels painted and bagged. Tub fitment and ready to prime. I’ll probably flock the interior. Test fitting body chassis and engine
