A new model car magazine

Be great if you posted a review. -
That is a very nicely done build....

Very well detailed and cleanly built. Great color and stance well done!

This is the kit that got me back into model building in the mid 90's after a long hiatus. It also took me on a short track building journey following after the history and legends of early dirt track racing. I soon found myself joining FRW forums and becoming friends with the resin legend himself, Fred Sudlow. Though I have lost track of those days I enjoy the memories whenever I see a build like yours. Enjoy!

Impressive modeling you have my attention

Ok, I’m gonna give this a shot, I cleared the bench. This is the start; I’ll post pix when it’s complete.

Just to say thanks for the kind comments I do appreciate them. I will get back to this eventually, right now, I don't have any clean side window glass. So, I need to find some at a swap meet or panelize the wagon. Both options are possible, I am in no small hurry to do either...

I do appreciate the kind comments, But I gotta say this is why I don't do many build threads. Everybody's got a better idea, a different point of view, you should do this suggestion. I like those wheels, I like the old ones, you should paint it black. Actually, I can't believe someone hasn't posted a picture of their 56 in my thread to show everyone what they did! I get it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but why can't you just take it for what it is? There won't be any more added to this thread, maybe I'll share it when completed! Thanks again...

A hot rod 34 Ford
James2 replied to OldNYJim's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice ol Hot Rod you have there. And only 15yr to finish! -
Lots of nice fab work going on here, very nice!

Looks pretty tight, nicely done.

Well now, that is a nice looking 34

Hi Carl, my method is simple. I lightly sand both mating surfaces, just enough to flatten the surface and remove the molded in pins. Then I line the parts up as perfectly as possible and clamp them with something like this. When I'm happy with the fit I use liquid cement and an applicator to cement the entire seam. Let is set for a few and then begin sanding, filling and smoothing. I have even used a few dimpling techniques to match the molded in texter of the casting. I don't spend much time on the areas that can't be seen after final assembly.

When I started this it was going to be a more modern custom, hence the wheel choice. But I liked the steelie idea and have found some WW tires to match. I'll share that asap.

Thank you for the comments. The body is Tamiya TS59 Pearl Light Red with a bit of MCW white frosting for a slight fade from the rocker. Nothing too radical on the paint. The interior will be a mix of pink and white, I think.

Well to be honest I allways proof read before sending and/or psoting anything.

That is a fine looking Ford right there, well done.

AMT 60 Chev pickup “farm truck”
James2 replied to STU111's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
When I read the title, I expected to see a tubbed-out pickup with a camper shell and a big block, I was pleasantly surprised by your real subject. The clean build, perfect colors and finish are spot on. The lettering and weathering are done just enough to appear realistic. It's a fine model, thanks for sharing.
