  1. The picture doesn't show the exact color. I was more excited to have gotten it painted after a failed attempt. But yes, Splash Paint base and 2x clear all straight outta the bottle. Thanks...
  2. Nice day to paint…
  3. Yes he did, I was an Administrator on his site and had mastered a few parts for him. I'm sorry to say I bailed when things went sideways over there, lots of drama towards the end.
  4. He is a great guy, I lost contact with Fred years ago. I believe like so many of us other things just get in the way and life changes over time. I know mine has...

  6. Yeah, I thought by now it would be painted. Bad news, I had some crazing accrue on the body. Tried to fix it but it didn’t work. So I stripped it and re-primed the body. Good news, it’s ready to paint again. Just need the time and weather now.
  7. My daughter accompanied me to the Hobby Shop a few weeks ago and picked out this same kit for me to build her, she's 19! Glad she didn't ask for a 1:1... Hope mine turns out as nicely as yours did, well done.

  13. I am pleased to see this thread still going, having started it 10yr ago! My family has made it through some VERY tough times since then, but we still remain. "Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times" Aeschylus, a Greek philosopher said this many years ago. That quote rings in my head daily. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Written by another philosopher named David. I do Hope you all have a great day.
  14. I need to get busy on this custom. I was stuck on paint color/scheme, but I think I may have decided. Most of the fab work is complete, now prep, prep, prep... I am still looking for glass if any are holding let me know.
  15. Thanks everyone, got few things to button up but it was a relaxing fun build...
  16. Welcome Carlo, I live in Ravenna, Ohio! I too am a Styrene-aholic, I find the hobby relaxing when done for the right reasons. What models are you building?
  17. Thanks, it was a touch and go for a minute but went pretty well, still have some tweaking to do before paint. I wanted to run the exhaust clear through but after installing the rear shocks there isn't any room. I think they will be ok like this...
  18. Some progress on the chassis, exhaust and driveshaft. Engine is mounted.
  19. Nice looking modified Modify!

  24. Splash paints website has information if you open the color of choice there is a "Read More" button plus an entire FAQ section. You will need to use a lacquer-based primer such as Tamiya or Splash Paint Primer. This Plum Crazy base coat with 2x clear, my first attempt with their product.
