I got the drip rails on and I'm still cleaning up and smoothing things out. Here is a comparison shot with the Revell body.

Amazing Model, Well Done! -
Gotta love a Gasser, good job!

Nice looking model, very clean build with shiny smooth paint. The black wash in all the scribe lines is a great touch. Build on!

Some progress on the 40, final smoothing and fitting. I did narrow the hood just a bit and I'll be adding the drip rail next...

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Tim your insight is always welcome, and I chose to paint the fender wells with the body and then tape the green off while I painted the interior color. Ill up date all three colors when I have time. Thanks again!

Got a little painting done on the home build this week end. I could start assembly next week it appears.

Looks good, some driving lights cut in above the splitter would be cool!

Interesting project Richard. Your fab work is a joy to watch.

Tom is absolutely correct! We all have that wall we hit every so often. Whether we loose interest, loose parts or a catastrophic accident occurs, there are many reasons to shelf a project. But if your passionate about what you do, you'll find a way to "recover and persevere" . Not just in hobbies but in your day to day life as well.

I never built any of them...

Very Cool !

Thanks to all, I'm kinda at a stand still until I start painting.

Thanks Bill, I am glad the chop is over and now I can work on the fine tuning aspects. Working out of town I have time to fill and for $5 I can't really go wrong!

SMOOTH...

Best way to quit is one at a time. Never light that next one. Toughest thing I ever did, twenty years ago. Good for you mate!

The practical side of me say, she's gonna out grow it in three months! Less then the time spent building it.
-
Good point Rob, there is much to do before filler and rails!

I'm liken your progress, looks good.

No real color choice yet, but I would like to keep it vintage. Thanks for the comments also guys. I'm planning out how to put the driprail back next. I believe I'd like to smooth things up first, soak the fenders in some paint remover and finish adjusting the body fit and finish. To pull the rear fenders in tighter I scribed this portion of the inner fender and removed just enough material to make a tighter fit. I also filled in the holes where the bumper brackets were on the trunk area.

Working on this turd trying to get the fit right. It really is pour design by 21 century standards but I'm having fun with it non the less. I replaced the trim and it's just about ready for filler.

Thanks again guys, Yes Andy I do! Normally I would not start this many builds. I've been pretty disciplined in my builds. But between working out of town and not being able to paint, I choose to build. I do have a plan to put up a booth in my construction office!

Thanks guys! Al not really sure it's a 100 mile round trip from my job site, if I can I will. Here is the basic look I'm trying to get...

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention, I have put this build off for a few years now but when I found this 40 buried in a box and marked $5. I knew I could do it!
