  1. The crane is mounted. Installing the U-bolts. Changed the mudflaps to cover the whole width of the fenders. Looking for a place to put the pogo stick. Not much room if we allow for the rotation of the trailer front. Crane partially deployed. Everything works on this unit, the stick & booms pull out and retract, the crane swivels, the outriggers pull out and retract so do their legs.
  2. I can't wait for the stories to begin.
  3. Thanks Tom. Here it is completed. Turns out the u-bolt to mount it to the frame are twice as wide as the frame channel, so I have to add "reinforcements" to the inside of the frame channels. That will be tricky.
  4. Sam, I have the Italeri crane on an L700. I had bought the KFS first but found it would have been too big. The Italeri is a very nice unit as well, just a bit smaller.
  5. Fantastic!!!!
  6. Asolutely!!!
  7. Ford Model B. L-head 4, 201 cu.in./ 50 hp.
  8. Early on, it had been decided that there would be some engines on display in the shop. The first trio was the company's namesake, a flathead, a V8 and a flat 12. The boss asked the boys to prepare another one in the same manner, this time a Ford Model B, a Jeep Dauntless V6 and a Porsche 356 Carrera 1500GS.
  9. Thanks Ray. Somehow your research was more fruitful than mine. Now I know what I am going to do.
  10. Added the fenders, backup light and mud flaps. As soon as the crane is completely dry, I'll start the detailing and assembly.
  11. I have a Merlin from a Spitfire and one from a Mosquito. They will be built for display. What colors were they? Were all Merlins the same color or did it vary with the application. the only one I ever saw in the flesh was a deep maroon, I doubt that was its original color. Thanks, Pat
  12. Thanks guys. Painted the crane orange. A real Hiab 205 is black. That wouldn't do.
  13. Purchased a Model B engine (Ford 32, 4 cyl.) for a display project. It looks a lot more like a Model A than a model B (Oil tube and no fuel pump). So I began to modify it to represent the B.
  14. There are Ardun intakes on Shapeways. TDR Innovations' shop.
  15. I have several flatheads.I would tradeyou for the Ardun.
  16. This pretty well tells the story Carl. https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/engines/about/buick/buick-90-v6/
  17. I think it lived on as the 3800. I'll check.
  18. I put this one here because it is a Buick design to start with, then Jeep Corporation, then AMC, then back to Buick. The 225 Dauntless V6, OHV V6, 225 cu.in./160 hp.
  19. Coming along nively. You'll beat the time for the 1:24. Just curious, where was Hooper's shops? Nearby or in an industrial part of London?
  20. Not irked but saddened. They found this couple dead in their chopper in a remote wooded area today. they had been missing since Monday last week. They were on their way back from Nashville and crashed 40 miles from home.
