  1. Plumbed the front end using a sketch found here. The two loose ends will connect to the valve under the foor below the brake pedal. I see some of the fittings on the tank have moved. Making up an air dryer. it will be between the tanks and the compressor. Where do the fuel lines connect on the tanks? Is the rectangular fitting where they go or is it underneath?
  2. You are close David. He is "The Boss" and he is wondering whether FTB needs a larger lathe. Here he is in the shop and in the control room. I have since given him acouple of shots of flat clear to tone down his jacket.
  3. He is pondering. Any guesses as to what?
  4. Glad you guys are enjoying it. So am I. Learning as I go.
  5. Bringing everything forward to the tanks, then on to the compressor. The engine is painted. Next come the detailing.
  6. I wonder what they were doing in the Paystar box. i don't have a DM 800.
  7. That will be a great looking model. it reminds me of this fella we used to see every now and again. seems to me it was a Kenworth too.
  8. The clear stuff is Cousin D.I.Y. .5 mm clear stretch cord. The gold stuff is 24 GA Cousin beading wire. The copper stuff is 30 GA Artistic Wire. The larger silver stuff is 22 GA bare wire. Most are from Michaels and /or Dollar stores. The hex fittings are No.11 Fusion beads, https://www.fusionbeads.com/Size-11-Metallic-Dark-Bronze-Hex-Japanese-Seed-Beads-by-Toho-222
  9. Love it.
  10. Great "mood".
  11. I agree on the nice job. He won't get scrapes as I'm sure it is going in a cabinet, unless he has really rough shelves.... then...
  12. And I thought it might be a variation of Marcos. Go figure.
  13. Thought I'd start on the engine. Found everything except the block and front cover. I remembered trading the mixer but not the engine. I knew I had one in the collection, which I could use but where was the other one? After much rummaging, I found it in the line boring machine masquerading as something else. So I stole the block and front cover from the one in the dump truck kit. Aaaah the pleasures of the golden age. Using a Ken Smith article, I started drilling. Are all V800s blue?
  14. Congatulations. 55? You must be in your very late forties.
  15. Had another blow last night. 2 foot drifts in places. Spent all morning chasing the snowblower, still not done. As if that wasn't enough, the furnace rendered the soul at the tender age of 25. Good thing the plumber is a friend of the family. It will be replaced by tonight. Now it is more than bench time that will suffer, it is the bank account. He said to count my blessings, if that had happened tonight when we were sleeping, we'd have gone to the big workbench in the sky.
  16. Absolutely. Always in a rush.
  17. Mike, looking at those blocks, you must do some woodworking too.
  18. Started playing with the air lines. I see I forgot the fittings at the junction block. Also, there is this in the kit which looks like it is either optional or extra. Looks like a very heavy duty rear axle.
  19. Well.... I got some peel. In three locations. I'll let it really harden before I do anything else.
