  1. This may sound like a tutorial but it is not. The members seemed to enjoy the thread I had about salvageing a Hemi from the junk pile so I thought I'd do a thread with this one too. It is a P2 Rolls from one of the junked Monogram kits I had purchased on eBay. After a look-see at several photographs on the internet and an explanation from Eric McLeod as to why I thought I was looking at mirror images (some engines appeared to have the exhaust/intake sides reversed), I decided to add a few details to this one. Replaced the missing spark plugs. Added three terminals to the generator and wire holes to the magneto. And to the distributor. The exhaust pipe had a round nub end. Added real pipe. Did the same with the spark plug wire conduit. Added a fitting to the bottom of the fuel bowl. the coil had been installed backwards, so I turned it around.
  2. Ray,this is really impressive.
  3. Here we go again.............
  4. X2
  5. Ah yup....which means I should take the pump out, drain it & replace the seals. This may take while. Can the top be operated manually if disconnected from the cylinders?
  6. I'm going to check that tomorrow.
  7. Lovely. How fast does it go?
  8. I suppose this could only happen if the mixture damages some seals. If that is possible, then it is what likely happened here, over time.
  9. Bill, your friend Bill, says in the video that we’re to use atf.I have been using hydraulic oil.Can that be harmful?
  10. Thank you, sir. Yep. The bumps better be small.
  11. In the back of the FTB shop getting the once over. Took it home to show the neighbors. Then to the abandoned warehouse where it will begin the race from for a few promo shots.
  12. Here's my Monogram. It is scheduled for a redo. Like everyone else says, the Monogram is the right choice for authenticity.
  13. The home made headlight cover wasn't very successful. It is a bit stiff and pops back out and the clamp I put on smeared some of the glue. So I may attempt to disguise it using duct tape. After all duct tape is often seen on a racer....We can justify just about anything in modelling.
  14. Nice. The other day I was in a city I lived in more than 25 years ago and saw a gentleman in the restaurant who I thought I should know. I didn't remember his name but I remembered his Morgan.
  15. Neat.
  16. Riding my bike today, it felt like my seat was coming loose. I happened to be right in front of a garage with the door open. I went in to borrow an allen wrench and there was a Lotus Esprit sitting there, solid but dusty. I want to go back tomorrow to give the guy a coffee shop gift card and take a picture.
  17. Me too.
  18. Began adding details & stuff. Made taillights with half round. Headlights are from Scale production and turn signals are truck clearance light lenses. Tried to hide the old glue by painting the surrounds of the glass pieces black. One headlight cover will be homemade, the original having disappeared. Added the dash and a KFS PE wiper.
  19. Absolutely!
  20. There is a big "groove" along the base of the hood. I hoped to make the joint in there then touch it up with black after. Thanks for the advice.
  21. Looks like I've done everything backwards. Wouldn't be the first time. Interior is next. I don't have a gray light enough. So it'll go on last...when I find it.
  22. I am following Greg Hoffman's recommendations for the time being. Any further digging is for a rainy day....
