Glad you're enjoying it Carl. Yes I believe it will work. it needed some serious surgery to get it where I wanted it but we are getting there.. -

Spent quite a bit of time fiddling with the rear spring mount moving it up and down to get the ride height where I like it.Assembled the Tall T rod axle. Looks like a Halibrand to me. The '34 Ford kit comes with some nice Merc wheels and some low profile radials. The Tall T's rod option has slicks and regular bias tires with a thin white stripe. I think my mind is made. -

Following Ted's suggestion I recessed the firewall a bit further and added two "rubber" donuts to lift the engine a bit. It won't be as much of a sump dragger. Removed the trunk floor and notched the front flange of the rear crossmember to accept the Tall T's spring cradle and transverse spring. -

A farmer friend of mine had one too, same color. He used to load it with bales so that it ended up like some loads you see on facebook. A great big pile a hay with a little blue dot underneath .They were immensely strong and tough. Nice model. Brought back memories. -

To lift it, I'd have to recess the firewall further. It is feasible. -

Practised two professions today, engineer and surgeon. Spent some time making sure the 430 fits in the space made for a flathead v8.. Cut off the crossmember with the idea of moving it forward and ended up putting it back on after realizing it locates the front suspension. installed some tabs to support the engine. Ended up recessing the firewall instead. Since there is no room foe a belt driven fan installed some electric fans from the parts box. Then tied several bely an pulley configurations for the alternator. Most of them didn't clear the suspension. Found a two belt setup which does. Stole some manifolds from one of my unbuilt engines that will do the trick. they are from the 80 Bronco. -
Thank you Charles. That clears it up.

I suppose I could do that, the Trans Am has been stripped and repainted many times. thanks for reminding me of the spoons. I have a box full. -

If there is going to be a battle with the paint again, it won't be on the model itself. I dug out my old test TransAm. -
The other day I floated some ideas around which included either the '34 Ford with a Lincoln 430 or a '48 with the same engine. Well, it will be as follows: A topless '34 Ford coupe (top is on my '34 Chevy) The rear suspension from the Tall T hot rod option (the 34's rear end is under the tow truck I just finished) The 430 with 6 strombergs, also from the Tall T hot rod option The windshield from a Packard phaeton (I think) Whatever else is required along the way.

3D model specialties has a lot of nice stuff. He has AJPE Hemi, Brodix BB Chevy, Arias BBC, Boss 520, BBC 509, Brodix 609. What would be a common denominator for these? Crate engines?

Added corporate mud flaps and parked it with the rest of the FTB fleet. -
Here'tis. I hope you like it. Despite the battles with the paint, it grew on me.

Nice engines Shawn. I'd love to get my hands on a Jaguar V12. Is the Hasegawa kit expensive? Are there others perhaps cheaper?
-
I,ve done that too on occasion. Not necessarily with Ford coupes.

The garage in this photo was pushed over by the blast from the garage that blew up behind it.

I am planning to build a 1:25 version of this puppy. I realize there is no such thing as a 1:25 jet engine and that it'll have to be mostly scratch built. However there may be some parts that could be useable like nose cones, blade sets from some kit engines. It works out to about 96 mm in length by 32.5 mm in diameter. Any ideas on this. It was the photos of the blade sets in this thread that gave me the idea of using model parts. On the other hand, are there any aftermarket parts either 3d printed or resin cast of blade sets large enough for this?
