  1. More for the sounding board. While it looks like they ran mostly 250 Cummins I thought I'd go a different route. I have : CAT 3406, NTC 475 (twin turbo), CAT 1160, Detroit Series 60, 12V71T and two Mercedes engines which would nod to the brief Daimler-Chrysler association which occurred many years later.
  2. Thank you sir. Never even thought of looking there.
  3. Is the type of toolbox on the Tackaberry truck available on the aftermarket? I suppose it could be scratch built easy enough. What is it called?
  4. Thanks guys. Experiment or not, it is on the shelf with the others.
  5. I think I'm ready for another truck. I have a Big Horn waiting. I think it is a Frontier Resins piece. I posted three photos of where I could go with it; -Working rig, I have a KFS crane which would go well with that. -Road tractor with daycab. -Fully gussied up road tractor with sleeper and plenty of bling.
  6. Nice job Bruce. Everytime I see an Edsel here, I flashback to when I was around 10. I had ordered one from the back cover of something (likely a comic book) and went to the post office daily for for what seemed like weeks. Never did get it.
  7. The latest machine is completed and in service in the shop. As always, I see in the photos a few things that will require touch ups but that is pretty well the way it'll sit.
  8. Nice work. Love the stripes.
  9. A pair of Ford pickups off eBay. Good price.
  10. Nice restoration.
  11. Made from junk parts I bought on eBay. Experimented with the "sand thru layers" method.
  12. There it is, '56 Ford made from junk parts serving as a guinea pig for "faded/worn" paint experiment.
  13. Very nice. Looks the part.
  14. I like it. I have something like that on the back burner.
  15. Glad you like it. The two machines are done. Left to do is a rack that stands beside the honing machine. It holds the cap & rod end grinder as well as an assortment of hones, go/no go gauges etc.
  16. Yeas, I know. It is a truck made from parts. It is actually a '56 with a "found" 53 grille.
  17. The rubbing has started. Somme of the final assembly taking place.
  18. Working on a tool that goes with the rod honing machine, the rod end and cap grinder.
