  1. Hi all here is tonight's bit on this one.
  2. The Bentley is an iconic British car as is the mini the jag the taxi the bus the post box and the phone box
  3. Hi all I was in Hunstanton over the weekend and nipped into the LMS and spied this (among other things) and had an idea for the most ambitious diorama I've ever tried I won't be starting it till I've finished a few I have on the go at the moment, here's the plan. I've just bought revells 1/24 4.5 litre Bentley. I'm now going to get a 1/24 taxi a mini,an E Type jaguar and a Roller I'm going to put them with the bus on a Base with one of the London stations and maybe a phone box and a PO box (depends on whether I can find a 60s pic of one of the stations with a phone box or PO box in the pic. As I said my most ambitious idea to date and it will mean destroying some of my completed dios as I won't have room for them, I've a lot of things to collect first and a lot of research to do, then plan out make it as small as I can and still be believable. Luckily London has always been packed with vehicles nose to tail and of course I can use both lanes going and coming, lots to think about, I'm figuring a start maybe October.
  4. Superb work as always harry loving that seat
  5. Hi all well this is steaming along, not much longer now.
  6. Hi all well the interior is completed.
  7. Hi all my daughter bought me this kit for Christmas, I didn't really know what to do with it at the time (those who know me know I hardly ever do out of the box) I had I quick look in the box and made all the right noises at the time, I've had a few ideas of what to do with it and I had an idea I would do it as a sightseeing bus and cut the roof off and light it up so tonight I opened the box for a look at what would be involved, I have to say it was quite a shock, there are so many parts and it looks so complex, even to build oob without doing anything else to it. It's back in the box and in the stash till I feel more able to tackle it, it truly looks like a great kit though, no flash at all that I can see and very crisp detail.
  8. Hi all here is the next update, I'm finding it difficult not to over do the weathering, I'm going for well cared for but used, thing is I love making things old and neglected I think it makes a subject more interesting, keeping that in check is proving extremely difficult, but I have to as the spray job is one of the best I've done, I'm really proud of the gloss (although I think that's just down to the great cheap paint) (incidentally I checked out thing me bobs where my missus said they sold it in metallic colours (only gold and silver in metalic) but even better bargain only a quid a can, of course I couldn't resist so I bought another 5 cans. 9. Beautiful
  10. Hi all these cannons are a bit tedious but I've done a bit more, not happy with them, they still don't look very realistic (each one is less than 1/2 an inch long, well the carriage is anyway), so I can't do much with them but I'm wondering weather the decking from the 1/72 revell flower class corvette would look good stuck on and stained what do you think.
  11. Hi all next bit.
  12. Hi all here's tonight's bit
  13. Hi all here is my next short term project
  14. Hi all, the rest of the cannons are fully visible so I've decided to try and detail them a bit more, there is no wood grain moulded in the plastic sides so I've scratched some lightly with my knife and tried painting and using pastels to get an wood effect, not worked as well as I'd liked but better than nothing, and when they are installed you probably won't even notice anyway.
  15. Hi all last night we went to see motown at the shaftesbury theater last night, I couldn't recommend it more, the Bobby Gordy and Diana Ross duet nearly had me in tears and if any body else had stood up I would have and they would have had a standing ovation, it was a fantastic show, all the greats, Marvin gay to Micheal Jackson, truly fantastic show.
  16. Hope you get your problems sorted soon, dosent sound like much fun and adding sleep deprivation into the mix, I certainly wouldn't want to be in your shoes. The model is looking truly superb.
  17. Looking amazing harry, this will be a stunner
  18. Hi Greg, shame you live so far away you would be welcome to both of them, unfortunately it would probably cost more than the models cost to post them and they probably wouldn't survive the journey anyway, that 32 ford I only have to look at and bits fall off it. Thanks for the kind words anyway.
  19. Hi all got the rear railings on and made a start on the aft mast ratlines connections.
  20. Thanks for all the kind words, glad you like it.
  21. Hi all well this is certainly leagues more complex and detailed than any ship I've built not sure I'm upto rigging this, for instance all the pulleys attached it the mast and crows nest, I've barely started on this one mast, I take my hat off to anyone tackling this complex a rigging not sure I will stick the course, I've not found an easy way to tie the pulleys. The 4von this mast took 2 hours and a lot of swearing.
