  1. Hi all had a go at making the canvas top look like canvas
  2. Hi sorry mate to late for that, sprayed high gloss black over that to use the alclad, anyway here is a little update
  3. Oh well I've got another problem, we're baby sitting our daughters puppy (I can't be angry he's such a sweetie) being as how I've not had a dog for 20 odd years and my missus not had one for even longer, we're a bit out of practise, the dog is tiny it's a sausage dog he's 16 inches long so imagine my surprise that he can get parts off a 30 inch high table. The fuel cap is missing a few other bits are chewed (not too bad they can't be fixed) ( some of the ship parts I don't want to think about (gulp the Soliel may end up shelved) I made a concerted effort to stick to just this build to try and get my confidence back and although I can't get a good gold effect on it so far, I'm pleased with how it's going, I may end up just spraying the gold with gold paint or doing it high gloss black, it's funny I would be so cross if a human had damaged these kits but I melt when I look at frankie, I do love dogs, I look at this tiny animal and I just can't understand how some people can hurt innocent little creatures, I look at him and my heart melts
  4. Hi all I was asked by a few people how I did the leather so incase anyone is interested here's how I did it. First I primed it Then a very watered down coat of yellow ocher (I only used vallejo as I didn't have any yellow ocher in enamel, but enamel should work too) Once that's dry a very thin coat of humbroll 62 Then a normal coat of humbroll 63 then whilst it's still wet, scrunch up some clingfilm film and dab it on the paint till you get the desired effect. Then a coat of satin varnish If I wanted to take it further I could scratch the paint then rub some buff coloured pastel into the scratch, brush it off then varnish it again. I could go on and pluck holes in it put oil stains and all sorts It's dead easy . Incidentally mate front and rear seats are the same colour (must be the lighting)
  5. Hi all done the seats now, I quite like the used leather look, I've tried not to go too far, I want it to look cared for.
  6. Hi all here's another update.
  7. Thanks harry will have to look at that
  8. Hi all here is the next update, progress may slow down a bit as I'm waiting for some alclad gold (hoping I looks shinier than the gold leaf)
  9. Thanks for the heads up mate.
  10. Hi all, well I've added a carpet also I noticed the rails that run under the chassis is missing so I've added that
  11. Hi sjordan2 the part is not included in the kit I made it, the only reason I know it should be there is from looking a a pocher kit build, harry I may try alclad gold although I've not had much success with alclad chrome.
  12. Hi all revell put the location tab for this part but for some reason didn't make the part. I've fabricated it also the other bits which are attached to the sump (don't know what any of the parts are) but they help fill empty spaces, they are not exactly right the black box thingy with 2 nuts on the top should have 3 but I've not got any small enough, but I figure it's better than having nothing there.
  13. Hi all well i was looking at a poacher build of this car and (although it's a 1/8 kit do twice the size of this) I thought I could add more detail to the engine so I've removed a bit moulded to the engine (not sure what the part is) but I've seen it in a lot more detail on the poacher kit and I think it is a fairly easy bit to improve (I'm not saying this will end up like a poacher kit but I am going to try and add what detail I can)
  14. Hi all well i figured since i seem to be ruining everything i touch lately i thought maybe i should try a new kit, if i make a hash up of this im going to take it as time to hang up my modeling tools and give up all together i decided to do all the chrome on this gold i was having trouble getting the gold leaf to stick to this but now is sorted the gold leaf sticks now but I couldn't get a good shine on it (its too soft as soon as you try to buff it (however gentle you are)it rubs off) so I've had to settle for imitation gold leaf (it's a bit tougher) I think it looks much better. This is the main colour I'm doing it (not even sure if I will be adding another colour yet) I think the gold looks good with it, opinions please?
  15. Hi all well still on this, not much to show, I seem to have lost any skill I had, this is looking so shabby, showed so much potential when I started it, I thought the wood effect was great (I know bit big headed but I did think it was a good effect) seems to have gone down hill since then, sorry.
  16. Hi all, well I needed to do something to take my mind off things so decided to start the ratlines (actually I found it very relaxing)
  17. Hi all thanks for the kind words, docs been told, she's strained her chest, probably trying to move my dad on her own, instead of asking for help knowing her. she used to be a nurse and thinks she can still do it all.
  18. Hi all well today is a bad day for me, my dad is 84 and I've been told by my mum he's gone into hospital with a chest and urine infection, he's on 24 hour oxygen and nebuliser, dosent look good my mum is complaining of pain in her lungs but won't see or tell a doctor as "she has to be there for dad" has sworn me not to mention to docs (I'm going to anyway) don't think things are looking very good.
  19. Hi all I love a bit of serendipity we arrived at our hotel in Cyprus at 10 pm last night and were told our room was double booked so we agreed to go to the hotel next door till it was sorted, today we are at our original hotel in an upgraded room with a sea view free bottle of champagne free bowl of fruit and full drinks package, loving it.
  20. Astounding levels of detail going into this, great stuff.
  21. Hi all well whilst visiting our friends new static caravan in Hunstanton I checked out the local model shop and couldn't resist these two(the jet engine is a new one for me, never tried anything like it before) http://i68.tinypic.com/2ueh3sm.jpg] The weather although breezy is very nice.
  22. Hi all well this kit comeso with no anchors for the boats so I've knocked some up, also there are no oars, I've checked a few builds not of the heller kits and they don't seem to have any either, were they stored below decks or should they be there. Sorry my build rate has slowed so much, but I get some done when I can fit it in and am not feeling too knackered.
  23. Well repairs made and a small update, I really hope I don't have any further catastrophe's
  24. Hi all well with my new toy and my pc dieing I have a new work space Whilst clearing out the desk I found these photos, they must be 30 years old.
