  1. I would go with the Maroon. Black is a tricky color. When I paint black I use flat black followed by a few coats of clear. Also remember that for this kit you don't need glue if this is the Revell of America you are talking about.
  2. I love vintage stuff! And speaking of tax stickers, did they put them anywhere on the truck or did they have to be at specific locations?
  3. Some times I say that: "All I want is a beat up pick up truck". Well, here it is. I like this a lot. Thanks for sharing.
  4. I have a few Funny Cars with diecast bodies. Go figure.
  5. I felt like that many times but I just kept going a little a at time and I finished it last week. Just hang in there! Angel (de Caguas)
  6. You have too many trailers. Why not sell a few? I'll take the black lowboy. Seriously, they all look great. You have a lot of talent. The Snappers look great also.
  7. This looks like an old timer job. Looks great! One of my favorite kits. I've done four of these without a drop of glue, except for the parts I broke.
  8. I just posted this on another thread: "I always use flat black (rattle can) with up to three coats of Testors High Gloss clear. Gloss Black is a pain to work with". But airbrush is different, so others will help you there.
  9. I don't think you have to apologize to anybody. We enjoy work like yours.
  10. I always use flat black with up to three coats of Testors High Gloss clear. Gloss Black is a pain to work with. That stance looks good. I did one just like yours but not a drop of paint (just like I did them as a kid).
  11. Good luck with them. I wrote them about a year ago and I'm still waiting for an answer. Revell is great when you request a part. Just post a request in this forum in the "Wanted" section and I'm sure you'll find that part.
  12. Thank you guys. And remember, criticism also welcome. Robert, I also had this poster as a teenager in the late 70s. Remember how you got yours? I got mine through the order form included in some truck kits. They were $2.95 each plus $1.00 S&H. I recently bought a smaller replica. As for the trailer, I want to do one but this particular trailer (with the side door) is selling over my budget right now. But I still might do it later if I find an affordable one.
  13. I always use brake fluid. I've used thinner too but you'll need a lot of it.
  14. I really like this one! Do you have photos of the trailer while you were building it?
  15. We got to keep this in mind also.
  16. He just wants the caps. He'll throw away the caulk. No, seriously, this is a nice idea. I have some caulk and other stuff lying around. I'm gonna start looking for those caps. And they do look better with the base.
  17. When I post my finished builds, I request that they tell me the bad things also so I can correct them. Without that, most people won't say the errors or bad things they see on your model.
  18. Man everything looks right ! Those tires are really sharp.
  19. That blue looks great!
  20. Do NOT use Testors High Gloss clear (enamel) on white. I messed up a beautiful Peterbilt that I did in black and white and it yellowed the white instantly. It's getting worse with time. Other lacquer clears do better on white.
  21. Well done. I like the tires.
  22. Excellent in every way! Maybe I'll see it on the road when you finish. The door says: "Orlando, Fla". That's where I live.
  23. This is an excellent build of an American icon!
