  1. Thanks guys. I paid 50 for kit 15 for carbon and 15 for photo etched on amazon. But just looked and they have it for 33 for kit now.
  2. just finished up. everything that could go wrong did. I will do another later see if it goes smother. can see build in on the workbench
  3. Finished final pics in under glass.
  4. This car is really starting to piss me off nothing is going right had to sand body again. About to throw it against the wall. Should of been quick easy build but keep having to fix stuff. Even got me to the point of just wanting to give up the hobby. At this point if the paint is messed up again I am just going to say f it and put it togther. and to top it off i opened my Tamiya Toyota GT1 and the windshield is broke in half fml
  5. Welcome also on the left side of mo. St. Joe
  6. So i am spraying future right now and i am getting brown spots on the silver parts of body. Can't figure it out. Silver is tamiya gloss aluminum spray TS-17. I cleaned it and ran tack cloth over before future. Airbrushed at 15 psi. More I look at it lighter it is getting. What causes this. This is only 2nd time I've used future. It dried clear so don't know what that was about. Thinking I put it on a little thick.
  7. quick update
  8. I use regular $ 15 soldering iron from radio shack. It is just like soldering wires. You should get a piece of glass to work on so the solder won't stick. You can also use epoxy or super glue. But i would only use super glue on small non load bearing parts. I lightly sand the brass also. Sure others have more tips on this subject.
  9. Same just make sure to mask off anything you don't want it on. Because if you get over spray you have to sand it and repaint.
  10. Gloss is completely clear just changes sheen of paint. Like if you took a flat painted surface and got it wet. Pearl has a little color that changes with the light kind of like a rainbow effect. This pearl
  11. carbon is done. still drying covered in micro sol.
  12. Do you use hair dryer even when using micro sol and micro set? That's what I use didn't know if the heat would effect it.
  13. I use lacquer thinner from home depot. Get 1/2 gallon for price of small hobby store bottle. Remember to clean and oil brush after thinner or it will dry seals out. I run createx air brush cleaner threw mine after thinner. You can get big bottle at hobby lobby
  14. been working on carbon fiber today. I can never get all the air bubbles out of carbon for some reason.
  15. Black pearl is possible that's a way of doing ghost flames. Paint all black then flames pearl. Tamiya has a pearl coat so paint white and black then cover in pearl. The pearl is gloss so you don't have to gloss it, but you can future it if you want. Just wet sand between colors. Tamiya paints go one pretty smooth. Make sure you prime. In my experience tamiya (actually all whites) don't like bare plastic.
  16. I still want the Unimog kit. It has a pneumatic crane on it. I think of them as models. And appreciate the design that goes into them. Like the f1 car when you move it the whole drive train moves. You can see the piston moving.
  17. This isn't a little kit it's around 1/10 scale and should go for $100 plus. I have the f1 car and that's huge about 20 inches long.
  18. Lego is trying to see if there is enough support to release a 69 Vette. Made up of 1500 pieces. Go to link to support. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/77779
  19. Super Clean

  21. what rims and tires are those?
  22. small update finally got body redone. the weather was crazy this weekend got to 34 degrees sat. then today in the 70s. Since I stripped the body I changed it to Tamiya ts-17 Gloss Aluminum.
  23. Awsome you like to go crazy when you like a certain subject I see. I've been wanting to do Tamiyas. Hopefully it's as good as their spitfire and mustang kits.
