Lacquer thinner for airbrushing enamels?
Pierre_tec replied to Steamboat's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It’s exactly what the old man Donn Yost used to recommend with great success. Still miss that man and his advices -
Such a nice model! Love the wheels, wheels seems like the c4 corvette.

Such a clean build, not a model you see everyday
-
Looks so smooth, now the fun parts, chrome!

Why do you model?
Pierre_tec replied to Matt Bacon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cause is fun! Well, somes give more headaches than others, but mostly they are fun. You can get creative, it’s just plastic, and there are so many talented modelers, that inspired me to build better every time. Beside, been a gear head all my life, I’m tech for living, so I can get to known, and learn about many cars thanks to modeling. -
Maybe white stripes with white interior, nice and clean

Nice details so far, definitely a nice kit

That gold looks so nice! What’s make you kitbash those models, what’s wrong with the Chevelle chassis?

What a nice build, congrats

What and amazing build, all most looks like a revell model. I agreed in the sinister looks, I prefer the dog dishes in my models also

What’s your favorite glue or adhesive?
Pierre_tec replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Modge Pudge for clear parts, laquer thinner for everything else. Although can some times use Testors tube glue or gorilla/ crazy glue -
Well maybe I’m the first to admit that I’m a sucker for 2k clear, but taking the safety issues of course. Although I dont use it as much as the body shops do, maybe 2-3 time a month, I try to always use it with a respirator and nitrile gloves. My choice, Basf Rm5335, two coats and done. I paint mostly at night and since is a tropical island, humidity is always present. I can’t find Testors one coat lacquer locally. Also try AutoZone Upol high gloss clear, what a waste of money!
