  1. There might be a contraprop conversion available for the Matchbox Spit 24, I dunno. In 1/48, you could use the Airfix Seafire 46/47 kit, or save yourself a bunch of trouble and just buy the High Planes World Jet/Precious Metal kit, which is a P-51D with contraprop Griffon conversion, just as you want.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! (Is the kid talking about the model, or about Herman?)
  3. First time I ever heard Stay With Me was on one of the singing shows like Idol last year...thought I'd heard it before but it took me a couple days to make the connection. Was reminded of it last night on the SNL "news" when they said that Petty and Smith have "settled." Petty and Jeff Lynne will now get a songwriting credit on Stay with Me and 12.5% of the royalties.
  4. Very nice! Possibly the best looking one of these I've seen yet. Whoseever grille you used, it's a huge improvement over the kit backbirth. And after looking at yours and several other completed ones, I'm thinking that the kit wants to mount the front bumper just a hair too low. Something to keep in mind if/when I ever get around to building mine. Thanks for the great pics of a great build.
  5. Speaking of scarves, let's see if anyone knows this one: Where will you go with your scarves and your miracles? Who's gonna know who you are?
  6. Two covers for the price of one, and ripped from this week's headlines to boot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlnyCPj3Wrs
  7. Billy Joel, Vienna.
  8. What's not to like about a cleanly built retro/nostalgia Vette? Well done and model on!
  9. What kit is that, an original AMT '73 annual? Nice job.
  10. Very nice, but I'm a little fuzzy on what "Salt Lake Style" means. Does Utah have its own signature building style?
  11. I dunno, I bought an eBay "Corvette Junkyard" a couple years ago that turned out to have a bare AMT '73 body in it. It didn't look too bad to me so a few weeks ago I scored a mint unbuilt AMT '75 roadster to use for an organ donor (hood, front bumper, etc.). Everything seems to fit and I think the finished model will look pretty darn good on my shelf.
  12. Well, they'd "work" but '69 hockey stick stripes would look very weird on a '67-'68. IMHO of course.
  13. Very, very nice! Only change I'd make is, I'd razor-saw Steve off his raised pedestal, and epoxy him onto a base of thin clear plastic. I've done this with some figures and it's almost invisible.

Very different therefore interesting and cool. Much better than the original, in fact, even better than Caspar's Undertaker, though I admit I miss the original's reversed P-51 Mustang canopy.
  15. Atlanta Rhythm Section, So Into You.
  16. No Doubt End It on This.
  17. VERY nice model of one of the best looking cars of the '60s. We don't see enough of these. Well done and model on!
  18. And if California slides into the ocean As the mystics and statistics say it will I believe this hotel will be standing Until I pay my bill.
  19. Correct!
  20. Goin' to the city, got you on my mind, Country sure is pretty, I'll leave it all behind, This is my decision, I'm comin' home to stay this time.
  21. George Michael Faith. (I can't hear that anymore without thinking of Andy on The Office.)
  22. I THINK you'll be okay. I'd put the ammonia on one section at a time and then flush it off under running water immediately. No need to let it soak, ammonia removes Future like RIGHT NOW.
  23. I can stand Jack and Diane, and even the stupid Little Pink Houses. But to me, Cherry Bomb is just noise.
  24. Common rubbing alcohol will take Sharpie off plastic, including the wonderful Silver Sharpie. And you'll want to get as much of the stuff as possible off, too, as it can and will migrate up through paint months and even years after a model is finished.
  25. Ooooooh, yeah! I had a lot of trouble finding three consecutive lines of that song I could post here.
